Break It Down Or Drown In It

I am only at this a couple of weeks and already I can see that one of the large and valuable components of the WA experience revolves around the significant amount of communications between the members. Not sure about others, but I already had a fair dinkum of email traffic rolling into account before I started WA. Now the traffic is getting noticeably more intense.

For good or ill, there is a lot of redundant communications designed into the WA philosophy as well as into the WA technical platform. There isn't just a 'like' there is a notice that you received a like and that recipient acknowledged your like and so forth. Lots of traffic.

I use RULES in my Outlook to automatically shift incoming emails into manageable buckets of similar messages. So far I have set up the following storage directories (buckets) under the main Inbox of my main email address:

Note: I put the numbers in front to make sure the buckets sort to the top, otherwise, they would inconveniently sort alphabetically. This is ALWAYS a good tip for naming directories (email or file directories) if you want to be able easily keep them in order.Note2: This system allows me to ignore the lower-level things such as Like-notices until some downtime at which I can zoom through all of them quickly with acknowledgements. This way they all get acknowledged and they all get deleted keeping the email databases clean.

Note3: Regarding the Blog Posts and Questions and such, it will keep them available for me to easily check through for salience at my leisure as well.

Yes you can certainly spend hours in your inbox so this is great info but also changing your settings here in your profile as BobBarr suggests is another great suggestion. You guys Rock!!

When you click on your profile picture in the upper right corner, one of the menu options is "Account Settings". At the bottom of the new page that opens are checkboxes to select which types of notifications you'd like to receive.

THAT might even be MORE helpful.

Muchas Gracias!

You will explode your inbox !!!
