New Header banner
Hi each,
I have with excellent help from Craig, aka Labman, designed my own Header Graphic and would greatly appreciate some feedback from all you pros in here. Wow, That's a killer design you have in there, very professional. It's good that you changed the scoring of wealthy affiliate from 100 to 98, now the scoring looks unbiased. Rob, the price of the left book in recommended books is not printed(sorry if you are working on it:)).
Clean, simple and straightforward - I like it! The graphic on the left with the $ in the computer screen - excellent. I'm guessing there are always tweaks one can do to a site, but personally I would say let this one ride for a while. Here's to your unlimited success!!
from a graphically-challenged person, i'd say i love the utter simplicity, pro look and feel, of your site's header and images, Greg.
Thanks Maria, if you're thinking of doing your own designs, Labman has done some easy to follow training on the subject. Do a search and it'll show up.
By the way I love the pussy cat, I've seen several members with same icon.
Okay please take this as constructive. For me the content is very good but as a banner it does not stand out from the crisp headlines and images which you have in your blog. My eyes were not drawn to your banner but straight to your blog. This may be fine for you, but for me if I had put a lot of effort into the new banner ( which I assume you have), then I would want it to have a greater effect.

You see that was what I was hoping for, and yes it took me bloody ages, just to get the colour around the world all the same, I couldn't get Gimp to do what Craig was doing in his walkthrough so I experimented, for ages...left the computer...came back played some more and eventually got it to where it is.
I still prefer this header to the one I paid a massive $5 for at Fivver. At the end of the day it's my content that I want my visitors to look at, so no bad thing if they don't get distracted by pretty graphics. I truly appreciate your time and input on this and will revisit it after I've de-stressed!! lol
Hey Greg. I'm a novice, and I think your header is great, and I'm even more impressed with the name of your website, which I'm very surprised no one else already had.
I like your site layout too. I will refer to it for inspiration.

Hey Dave thanks for your vote of confidence. I tried several variations and was also surprised that this name was available.
I almost lost the whole layout..was messing with the theme and the update totally moved all my menus around.
I spent most of the day trying to figure out the premium version of my theme, but gave up...It wasn't very newbie friendly, reverted back to the free version and I'm back in business!
I like the banner, very clean and professional. It feels like the outside area needs a color or image in the background to frame the text.

Do you mean a different background colour in the actual banner ( it took me ages to get it this far! ) or should I maybe frame the text itself?
Took the opportunity to follow you and check out your site, you started end of june this year and already have a site that looks amazing...jealous jealous!

Thanks for the comments. I mean the area outside the blog itself. You should always leave the area with text as high contrast to make reading easier. By changing the color outside the blog area itself, I think it forces the attention to the text. Like the way mine has an image surrounding the blog; I think it focuses the attention on the text.
Oh ok I went back to your site and I see what you mean! It's getting late for me now and the meds are starting to kick in so I'll have a play tomorrow and see if I can't spice it up a bit.
I think I'd better get my FTC disclosure done next as well, I understand they're getting quite hot on that at the moment!
