Pay Yourself First
- Something that I learned a long time ago was always to pay myself first and then pay everybody else. Many of us, in fact pay their bills, taxes and spending money and then try to save what's left. Doing it this way the average family can save around 3% of their income each year. By paying myself first I start with 10% of my income saved each year. The result is that I end up paying less in taxes, spend less and pay all my bills. By paying myself first I can save 5-7 times the amount of the average person at the end of 20 years.
