On a wing and a prayer.

Does anyone know what that means anyhow? The title, "On a Wing and a Prayer" Well I'll give you the meaning first at it applies to my life right now and this little W.A odessy of mine. It means that you’re in a desperate situation and you’re standing on hope and in my case faith to see you through.

It comes from a song made famous in world war 2 about a bomber pilot trying to get home.

"Comin’ in on a wing and a prayer

How we sing as we limp through the air

It applies perfectly to me, you see I'm unemployed, my savings have shriveled to almost nothing and I have a wife and 2 kids depending on me to support them. My wife has serious health problems as does my youngest boy. He was born with a severe heart defect called severe aortic stenosis. I've been looking for work for 3 months but I live in a very small town that sits in a very small county with a very large unemployment rating. Just 10 years ago I was self employed bringing home over $200,000 a year. "Oh how the mighty have fallen" I actually had a job interview set for this morning. The first interview in over a month. Got a call right before I left the house "I'm sorry but we're going to have to cancel your interview the company has decided not to fill that position, we're very sorry"

I'm not a whiner, I'm a survivor but I have to admit some of the shine has come off my apple. I've heard every scam under the sun in the last couple months. I even fell for a few that cost me some money and what's worse, they cost me time. Time wasted. So here I am at WA. I don't even remember how I found it or how I ended up here. I do know that it looks promising over the long term but in the short term I still have to pay my bills. I still need some kind of job. But I'm a man of faith. I believe somehow and someway, the good Lord is going to get me and my family through this, maybe on a wing and a prayer.
