Why Try to Reinvent the Wheel?

"If it ain't broken..... well, you know the rest, or do you? The reason I ask is because there are still too many of us attempting to be too unique, too original in our way of thinking when it comes to starting an online business.

Where do you even begin reinventing things when there are already proven system in place, you could in fact spend the rest of your days making life hard for yourself trying to develop a new system which you might own as yours.

Ride on the coat tails of other people's successes instead:

If it was my last day on Earth and someone asked me if I had any last words, I'd say to anyone that was listening to get out there, do your homework and EMULATE to the max your competitors and then be better than them.

Though, there's a few GOLDEN rules when it comes to getting inspiration from those that you admire in your field:

• Don't whatever you do, copy!

You might love someones content so much that you're tempted to copy and paste straight from their site to yours - please don't do this, it might seem like a good idea but you'll be punished by the search engines.

Instead of plagerising content, get all the inspiration you need, outline your content and make it your own!

• Come at things from your own perspective:

Yes, emulate what your competitors subject matter is but keep in mind to come at the topic from your own unique angle, for example, if your competitors are talking about best SEO strategies you cangain ideas from it and write about SEO strategies in your own style.

• Write a guest post for your competitors

This sounds contradictory but this strategy is proven to work time and time again. Guest posting is a trusted way in which to get your competitors traffic to work for you.

With this in mind, do you still want to reinvent the wheel or emulate your successful peers?

When we try to reinvent the wheel it creates for painful delusions that we're being innovative and progressive when in fact it's probably getting no where and in reality, progress never began.

Final words:

Don't try to be a totally unique genius because no one expects you to be one, just do whatever is already working so not to get stuck in a quagmire of despair. Your future self will thank you for it.
