My Very First Affiliate Sale
I was so excited last night. I happened to log into Share A Sale because I wanted to check an affiliate link I had been using on one of my websites against my Share A Sale account. Suddenly I noticed that there was an amount in my balance. I haven't quite worked my way around the Share A Sale site yet so I wasn't sure whether that meant I had a commission or if they were trying to charge me for something, not that I could think of anything they would be charging me for. I didn't want to get too excited if I was wrong.
Lo and behold, after digging around a bit, I found that it was definitely a commission. Whoohoo! While I have made commissions on my referrals, they feel different to me because they joined directly through a personal relationship or friendship with me. This one is my first sale from a direct click on my website from someone I don't personally know. Which means that someone liked something I recommended. That alone generates such a wonderful feeling and gives me confidence to keep going. I've always hesitated to speak to people about products but affiliate marketing is a way to convey to someone what you like about that product, without feeling like you are angling for a sale, or without you worrying that they are thinking the same thing. It's a very non-invasive way to tell people of products that you use and like and allowing them to make their own decision about it, without any pressure.
So here I am, proud as punch, telling everyone here not to give up, especially those of you who are only able to find dribs and drabs of time to spare on building your business like myself. Hang in there and just keep plodding along. Now that I've received that first commission, it gives me proof that I have made the right decision to become a member of Wealthy Affiliate and work with the fantastic training on offer here. Thanks Kyle and Carson, for giving us the opportunity to learn from you and for keeping on top of the new trends with the internet.

I had a similar experience yesterday. I have a commission in CJ of $20. What a surprise. Great motivation to keep going isn't it?

It definitely does! Takes time but once you get your first sale, the rest will follow :)
