I'm Back From My Cruise and Struggling To Start, But I'll Be Back On Top Of Things Soon

Hi everyone. I've just come home from a 10 day cruise to Papua New Guinea (very beautiful and worth going back to) and am struggling to get back into things at the moment. Catching up on all of the emails alone from the various people I follow has taken days and meeting all my wonderful new WA friends too. My goodness, haha. That alone has kept me from adding articles to my sad-looking websites that are displaying a poor health line now. (sad face). I need to stop looking at all those shiny things (distractions) and get refocused on my work. Any suggestions?

Just so you don't feel jealous, I can't exactly say that I had the most relaxing cruise, but it certainly was lovely to be away from the hassles of life in my carer role. I can truthfully say, I really did not want to come home, but alas, duty calls and one can only avoid it for so long. When I say not the most relaxing cruise, it is partially my own fault because I want to do it all and end up running around all over the place trying to get to this show or that trivia or join a dance class, etc. I know. It's all my own fault, but I just can't help it, I love doing all of those things. But I also enjoy relaxing on a deck chair on the back of the ship and watching the ship sail away from whichever gorgeous island I had visited that day. So peaceful.

Anyway, I thought I'd just write a quick blog to tell myself that I need to get cracking again. So Ange, get cracking and stop getting so distracted!!!

Thanks and See Ya, it's focus time again. For those of you who may face a similar focus problem, I'd suggest writing a blog like this one on WA to get you into the writing mood and back on track. I certainly think it has helped me just now by doing it. It's a bit like breaking the ice.

A very nice post. You have great courage. Fantastic.

Thank you Umsizi.

You are welcome my dear Angela.

I'm pleased you enjoyed your trip even though it wasn't totally relaxing. It's good to see you back and to read this blog. We all need inspiration and reading blogs such as this one of yours does help :)

Thanks Valerie. I like to write to get things off my chest and I thought I would kill two birds with one stone this way, write a simple blog to help get me back into writing the more complex ones. Thanks for your comment and encouragement.

Star Wars meets New Guinea; what a concept, especially from this distance. Glad you are rested and invigorated (notice Am Eng spelling taking over). This week I am involved in that strange American holiday "Thanksgiving" where all the mixed nuts of families get together out of tradition. It does give pause to looking at gratitude, which for me is a great source of inspiration for writing. We take it from where we can get it. Larry

I'm so sorry Larry.
I just saw that I had missed responding to your comment on my blog a whole year ago. Thank you and yes, Star Wars actually did meet New Guinea. We took a Luke Skywalker doll on our trip to share in the photo fun. Last time it was Indiana Jones. Although come to think of it, everyone knew who he was but I had to keep explaining that the Luke doll was not Ken, aka Barbie's boyfriend. I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving and are getting ready for this next one.

Sounds like a wonderful trip and I get the same way when I have been away takes me a few days or so to get my focus back

Thanks Katie. Life does it to me on a regular basis anyway, but it's extra hard when I've been away. I don't get away very often. I think on average I have only had a break from being a carer once every 3 years or so. Not nearly often enough. But I'll get there. Thanks for commenting.

Nice Blog - Good to hear that you had a relaxing break - "Focus" that's the word of the day - It hard sometimes when you have to read all the wonderful blogs that are published by the members here at WA.

Thanks Mark. I have already started to write 2 articles since posting this blog. The second one was a spur of the moment thing inspired by an event that had just occurred in my home, otherwise I would be only writing one. I guess it was yet another 'shiny' thing that distracted me but I've turned it into an article so it was a good distraction. I love it when inspiration hits.
