So when using the keyword tool as most would, i click the view result and have a QSR of 86. Which is good. But when i actually type it in google im getting a hit of 1,100 so im

It stands for Quoted Search Results the number of websites competing in google for this exact search phrase

QSR 86 is not so good, too high, you will not rank with this.

I thought anything below 300 was good? I have found a couple more which are 18, 29 and 56 which i will be using now. :)

I would use that in a heart beat. Lower the better. But I aim for lower than 200 myself.

Okay i shall take note, i try for anything lower than 100 as I've only really just started and need to build my site up.

Don't let that slow you down. Not always easy to find them, more important to get content on your site. Best wishes to you

You may have content which nobody will ever find on the Internet, so it will be useless. If you write people should find you. Do you really have ranked posts with QSR in the range 200? If so, congratulations.

I don't have ranked pages as of yet as I've only got a couple of pages written but I want to make sure the keywords are in the right place so I can write my content around them.

Have your targeted keyword in title, url, first paragraph, somewhere in summary, and in figure attributes.

But above all, go for low QSR otherwise it will be pointless. I have many texts lost because of high QSR.

The "total results" number that google shows on the first search page can't be trusted -- Included in that number are results that are classified as "Similar results" which aren't displayed unless you want to see them.

While those results are for low quality sites with junk for content, they *do* (at least technically) meet the search criteria. If you scroll down through the pages of results, you'll probably find that there really are only about 86 or so "real" (displayed) results with the rest being junk and not displayed.

Ahh okay, makes sense. After reading this and then looking through the search results, I can see that the keywords that i was searching for is actually in the meta description of everything on the first page. Now that i know that i can build a meta description that meets the requirements.

Thank you for the help :)

Quoted search results. That is because if you put it in googe like this "keyword" instead of just keyword. You want to use the quoted search

The search results i found were with the quotations, i understand its the competition for the keywords, but i dont understand why it shows over 1,000 pages for the keyword if its in quotations.

Fantastic write-up on the importance of choosing a niche! Quite impressive. Dropped a comment on that one for you.

Keep it up, you're doing great!!

thank you for the great feedback, to be honest I thought that I had written too much, but I now think that its enough not to overwhelm the reader and give them the necessary info on where to look and how to start writing about their niche.

As I said thanks again for taking the time to review my site in depth!

The images on your WA Review page are great. I would anchor link them with your WA Affiliate link.

Sidebar Widget area - Remove the Meta Login widget. Not needed.

Great start Gerry..... will continue reading, but want to point out one wee typo on your About Me page.....

“Bear with me,” the standard expression, is a request for forbearance or patience. “Bare with me” would be an invitation to undress.

:-)

Haha yes I had an issue of trying to find this typo as I saw it but was busy editing the something else and thought I'd go back to it and couldn't find it again. But thank you for pointing that out. As for the meta login widget I'm not 100% on how to remove as I want the side bar area clear for the time being.

Appearance > Widgets

Click on the one that says Meta
It should expand and give you a Remove link.

Okay I shall get on the case. Thanks for the assistance :-)

Hello all you lovely people, please have a look at my site and give me ways on how to improve it. I still need to edit in headers and pictures but i'm just going through the le

So far I like your site and I'm about where you're at a little more to go, I couldn't leave a comment on your site either. Good Luck!

Your "Getting Started" is a very good start. 'Look forward to your progress. (I couldn't figure out how to leave a comment on your site.)

Thanks for the comment. I havent set up the comment bit on my site yet but its a work in progress ☺

I like your choice of theme and colours. There are so many "make money" sites out there that are far too flashy. This site immediately has a sense of gravitas and professionalism.

The text on "Getting Started" hits the right note and is beautifully laid out in terms of white space and side headings. I noticed a couple of typos (or maybe they are spelling and grammatical errors). Use a spell and grammar check - often it is hard to see one's own typos.

The Rapid Writer here on WA does not provide these tools. I use Google Docs then copy-paste my posts to my site.

All the best

Thank you i will take note of using something to check my grammar, im guessing just using word is good enough?

Fantastic Start on Your Website...Your.. "Getting Started".. is very well put together...Look forward to visiting with You and Your Website...Well done !
