A Pause to Reflect
Hi WAmily!
Back on the Sunday night of Black Friday weekend I decided to take the leap into the premium world here at WA. This after lurking in the shadows for a few years as a free member thinking I could inch my way to success by grabbing tidbits of information from not only this community but a host of so called gurus out there that promise you the world all wrapped up with a pretty bow.
You see, I was never really comfortable talking to people in any type of online platform. I don't have a reason, but I now I am not alone in that aspect. Coming back to the WA community, I was convinced learning about how to engage with people was going to be as important a part of my training as any module available to any of us. Not only did I want to get much better at talking to people I have never met, I also wanted to learn about them in the process.
I believe we all know the internet has made the world a much smaller place. Who would have thought right? When I get up in the morning and come to engage with other members, I know who is going to be here based entirely on what time of the day it is. Then there are some people in the WAmily who I think never sleep! (Haha)
Well if the internet has indeed made the world a smaller place, then WA has created a new neighborhood for me. My time spent getting to know you has catapulted me to a place where I have found neighbors I never knew existed. I am grateful now in ways I never thought would apply to me at this point in my life.
You teach by being. Kindness is your lesson. Selfish you are not. Willingness is your nature. I am because of you. My gift comes from you. I will because you do.
I had a goal for this weekend and I am happy to say I reached it. What it was is not important, if you have been in my circle of near daily engagement then you probably recognize it on your own. What I needed for me is now complete, but not because of me, it is because of all of you.
My missing ingredient the first time around was my inability to realize how much I need your help. We all bring something to this community, all of us! For all the newbies out there, never lose sight of your most valuable asset in this community.... each other!

I think most of us at some point, stop take a breath and look around, wondering how on earth we were so fortunate to find such a place. Had we been asked if a realm such as this existed before we crossed into it's land, then the answer would surely have been no.

Gerry, you are such a brilliant writer.
When I was growing up I spent time in the local library, and I enjoyed reading books, sometimes I would get a really good one and could not put it down until I finished reading it. That is how I feel when I read your posts. Do you write books?
