Hi Folks,

I am just wondering what is everyone's Bounce Rate in GA. I am doing a bit of research and I am also curious if my 75% bounce rate is actually HIGH (and I shoul

Thank you both for your comments.
I am trying to figure out an average / good bounce rate if you like.
I know its different and a 100% bounce rate can be great too, and yes bounce rate is misleading not just early on with little traffic but later too.
But can be an indicator if something is off or broken.
Hence I am trying to find out what should be a ‘normal’ bounce rate for the websites we build, based on the training we get here.
If I get 10 responses all saying that hey my BR is 68% at the moment then that’s something I can refer to.

It's not the number you need to focus on - it's what your users are doing when they bounce that you need to look at.

If they're bouncing back to the search engine to look for another result, you got a problem... But if you've got a 100% bounce rate and they're all bouncing because they're clicking on what you're promoting (rather than another page) then hey, you're a marketing master.

What is your bounce rate?

I have seen a dip in my traffic recently (in the last 2 months), owing to the fact that one of my most popular posts has been outranked on Google (it is #2 now).

I check

I do not promote Jaaxy and this reply is not motivated by this.

Checking incognito is the only correct way and you are right to do so. But if you and me do the same check we might get different results. So this depends a bit on location. In other words, both your and Jaaxy's results can be correct.

Traffic may dip even if your ranking is not changed. I know this from my own bad experience. There are seasonal variations as one obvious cause. So you know that trafiic is lower and you interpret it by the change in ranking. But this new ranking is not universal and the dip may be due to different reasons.

Give me your keyword and I shall check incognito from EU. If I get you top ranked, how will you explain the dip in traffic?

Hi,
Thanks. I will answer in pm with the keyword.
It may be seasonal too, you are right, but I thought incognito mode would filter out any 'inaccuracies' as such.

I checked, and this is just for others if they read. You are ranked number one for my location, so the dip in traffic is due to different reasons and Jaaxy may be correct for the location it measures.
