I hope the above image conveys to you all just how I'm feeling this afternoon?
The last 24 hours have been, well shall we say, 'fun!'
Apart from having to take one of our 5 cats to the emergency vets late last night/early this morning, due to her having thrown up everything she tried to eat yesterday (don't worry, the cat's fine and receiving medication!) I think I may have come to an enforced grinding halt with the plans for my website! :-(
I was/am working on putting together a site aimed at the UK novice angling market. I ran loads of Keywords and the figures returned seemed reasonably healthy. I did the obligatory drilling down and again, the other Keywords seemed viable. So I started to create content. :-)
Having created a few articles/intro pages, I decided to see what is 'out there' regarding suitable affilliate options. And thats when cracks started to appear in my plan and why I've chosen the image I have to illustrate this blog post.
Based upon my research up to now, I have found just One UK based fishing tackle outlet that offers an affiliiate facility, and they have very specific and tight affilliate rules. All of the others I have looked at, either have affiliate programmes that are closed down or have details on their websites that are years old! Damn it!
So, what to do? Do I continue building my fishing related site anyway and continue looking for a suitable affilliate programme? Do I broaden my field to include the US market? Though what I know about angling in the USA, you could write on the back of a large postage stamp! Do I change direction completely? thus 'wasting' the Domain names that I have purchased for my fishing site(s)? Do I get drunk?
As for the latter option, it seems enticing at first sight, but I've discounted it as being counter-productive and at best, a short term fix! lol
So, what to do? Dear WA community, what would YOU do? Any ideas will be gratefully received - as ever - and I look forward to hearing some of your ideas when you have a few moments to spare.
