Countdown to 2015, day 12: 5 Tips to Get More Work Done
No matter where you work, or what kind of work you do, it is important to develop routines that will help you get as much done as possible in the shortest amount of time.
If you are an idea person like I am, new ideas can derail the work that is currently needing your attention. Start a new idea file and write them down as you think of them (you won't remember if you don't) but then close that file and get back to work. You can revisit your list of ideas when you have more time.
Here are 5 more ways to improve your productivity:
1. Start Your Day Right: Perfect your morning routine so you waste less time on social media and emails. Use a timer if necessary!
2. Organize Your Desk: Psychologists say that things on our desk really influence how we work. Add some plants and tidy it up to get focused!
3. Set a “Most Important Task” for the Day: To-do lists are great, but how many of them actually get everything done? Start setting a “most important task” each day to get done first.
4. Track Your Time: If you struggle with procrastination, start tracking exactly what you do each day, hour by hour. It’ll highlight your weaknesses.
5. Spend 5 Minutes Planning at the End of Each Day: Planning for the next day before you get to it means you can start the day knowing exactly what needs to get done!

I like these. Hadn't thought of taking a few minutes at the end of the day to prepare for the next one, but it makes sense. Thanks for sharing!
