Went down and bounced back! feels good!
I have a website for nail-art tutorial and tips on nail care. For tutorial I prefer video guide. Hence I maintain a YouTube channel. I do shoot and edit my nail design tutorial videos myself and upload to YouTube. I embed those YouTube videos in my blog posts too.
One beautiful morning last week, when I opened my site I saw that my videos in blogs were disabled. It said my account is suspended for Google policy violation. I was surprised since all my videos were original and for the matter of fact, I have this YouTube channel for past few year and I never faced this issue. I checked my email and didn't find any email from YouTube or Google mentioning the reason of disabling my channel! I had no idea why my channel was disabled.
I was annoyed and lot of depressing thoughts came into my mind! What will my visitor think about my site? Who will visit a site who violates policy? Is it all over for me and my blog? That time was frustrating and embarrassing.
Anyway, I had to sort this out and bring my channel up. I did reach out to WA community for help and also did some googling on my own. Most of the source suggested me to request YouTube for another review. I logged in and filled the form for review. Full day went in talking to different people and seeking advice. I didn't receive any communication from YouTube that day.
Next day morning, as usual, I logged into my site and this time it was a pleasant surprise. My YouTube channel was up and videos were playing fine. I was very happy and felt like winning a war! :) I logged into my email to see if there were any email with an explanation. But I don't find anything.
I did face some issues with my channel for next couple of days. My channel was not getting ranked in search results. Everything is back to normal now. Till now I don't know why my channel was disabled. But when I think about the whole incident now, I can say I learned few things about YouTube policies and functioning. That will be the take away for me from this.

good to hear you are back on track but eventually you may have to make alternative arrangements to Youtube. First of all make sure you have a back up of all your videos on your hard drive and you may have to host them on vimeo or amazon s3
Thanks katkatskitchen. Thats a great piece of information. I do have my videos backed up in my local hard drive. But yes, I need to consider uploading those to alternate hosting sites too.
I am so glad that you managed to get things sorted out. Have you looked in your email spam bin to see if messages are there from YouTube?
It is strange that they blocked your account without an explanation. Anyway, you have used it as a learning process which is also good.

I did check my spam and other folders like 'social' and 'promotion'. But didn't find any email. Strangely I received an auto acknowledgement email from YouTube when I submitted for review. But Never got an email mentioning why they blocked my account! I guess it will always remain a surprise for me.
So pleased for you!!!! My Wordpress has been stuffed for 24 hours where I can't type in a normal format. I have been back and forth with help centre, still trying to resolve it all......very frustrating so I know how you feel. Last month I updated an Adsense plugin which took my ads away. Well that took me 24 hours to correct.
These things make us stronger and bring us to our desired result, glad you hung in there!
