Get Over Yourself!

Is it just me or is your workplace filled with people moaning about how sick they are of being taken for granted, being over-worked and underpaid, etc, etc...

I'm pretty sure it isn't. Where I work is going through some huge changes at present. Changes that most of my colleagues won't embrace. Changes that, although I perceive as being for the better, are meeting negativity at every turn by those around me.

I used to be one of those people. I would sit feeling sorry for myself, moaning about all and sundry, bringing everyone around me down to my pitiful level. NOT ANYMORE MY FRIENDS, NOT ANYMORE! Some people just don't realise how lucky they actually are.

I don't have an easy life, however, it's a damn site easier than most people have it. YES, I have a mortgage, YES I have debts, YES I have little time to myself.

I also have a caring, thoughtful, intelligent and hard-working wife, who is also my best friend. A beautiful little 3-year old son who cheers me up when I come in from another hard day at work, just by smiling. I have a warm, comfortable home and a great family and wonderful circle of friends.

I am very lucky. I'm not rich or strikingly handsome (see profile picture) but I have lots to be thankful for. My number 1 rule in life is 'be grateful for what you have'

If I can tell you all anything it's this. When another bill falls through your letterbox, when your car won't start first time, when you have to take an unwanted detour from your seemingly structured day.STAY POSITIVE, STAY FOCUSED, BE DETERMINED.

In the words of Rudyard Kipling "If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs and blaming it on you..."

There are far too many people in this world who think they are owed a living. Happy to sit on their backsides and wait for all they've ever wanted to fall into their lap. Unless you're a Kardashian or something...it just doesn't happen!

...GET OVER YOURSELF! You're the luckiest person in the world.
