What do you prioritize on your website?

Hello Fellow Wealthy Affiliates

I have visited numerous websites in all different stages of progress, some I found very informative well written, with quality content which I actually bookmarked for future visits as my visitor experience was really enhanced, by not being haranged into links leading me away from the quality content on offer,

others are sales driven from the get go, trying to sell product not relevant to its niche, with pesky pop up links interfereing with the visitor experience. I guess what I am trying to say here is that we do sometimes try too hard and loose sight of how we should build our websites here at Wealthy Affiliate.

According to my understanding of it, we are taught here at WA to help others as we deliver consistant quality content in keeping with our niche's theme, so giving to our visitors what they are wanting in order for them to return in future to get that next instalment of quality content they come to expect on your site, thereby enhancing your website's flow of traffic.

Making money on your site should come naturally as you progress in the art of gradually monotizing your website, with affiliates which have product conducive to your niche, therefore I ask again.

What do you PRIORITIZE on your website?

1) Are prioritizing just making money?

2) Are you prioritizing just helping your site visitors?

3) Are you prioritizing a balance of both and in what % for each?

Comments please.

I am playing the long term game. Helping my readers first.

Hello Jhurreea
Good answer, thank you for your participation and taking the time to read my blog, all the best to you going forward here at WA.

Gary

2 - Quality and truthful content is my priority and then where appropriate I add a link to a product. I despise popup ads and will exit a site when they start.

Hello Lori
Thanks for the time you took to respond and I cannot agree with you more.
Gary

I'm striving for 50/50. Quality content and providing readers with helpful information. I always considered myself a good writer but this type of writing is very challenging....and fun. I'm not there yet but I'm working on it. Debbie

Thank you, Debbie, so I guess it is a process we strive toward a good balance between quality content and monetizing our sites.

Gary

Hey Gary, stay focus. Pick through the fat and get to the bone.

Hello Anthony
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and offer your comment, it is very much appreciated.

Gary

My priority for now and for the foreseeable future is Great, quality content. The links are there, and I do promote them, but, when I visit a website, I want to learn something, not get sold at!

Hello Mickey
1stly thank you for taking the time out and for your feedback, yes, I find it intrusive when a website, jumps out at you with badly timed pop-ups selling at you.
Gradually building our websites with quality content and monetizing it slowly but surely with subtle promotions is key, seems the way to go here, thank you for sharing.

Gary

Thanks of this useful post Gary. It poses a great questions. I am at the adding content stage. I feel it is important to put some firm roots and content into my website before monetizing it. Next step will be some reviews based on my personal experiences.

Hello Allen
Thank you for sharing your strategy and it seems to endorse what most WA members are saying and is the better route to follow.
All the best to you in going forward with your website, Allen.

Gary

Thanks for the reply Gary.

Hi Gary.
At my level of learning, which is Course 3/Level 2, my priority is providing good content. I hope to have made good progress with this by the time that monetization appears on my training list. Cheers
Roy

Hello Roy
Thank you for taking the time once again.
You seem to be keeping within the training guidelines, why can all WA members not see that it is the correct path?

Wishing you ongoing success with your web site Roy

Gary

I prioritize in writing content that is interesting and easy to read so visitors will keep reading and not quickly click away from my site. I also want visitors to be included by enabling comments on my two main pages (not just on posts)

Thank you, Karen, for the feedback

Content that prioritizes the customer and reader values!

Hey Michael thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

My priority is writing content that is informative, engaging and honest. Although challenging at times, I thoroughly enjoy the process. I honestly believe that if you enjoy what you do, the money will follow, perhaps even from an unexpected source!

Hi Veronica, agree 100%.
