another amazon question

1) someone clciks your link to amazon.
2) buys something
3) do you get a commission?
That was my understanding.
My sister who lives in a different state and who has a different last name bought something on amazon after clicking my link.
Its looks like the clicks are showing but no commission is showing.
Any idea what could be happening?

I always thought that someone related to you couldn't buy because of your referral. My step-son left a review on a book in Amazon. I never got it, but he had confirmation of it. I know this doesn't relate to a commission, but someone else had told me that. Hope it gets all sorted out for you!
