If for some reason, I would prefer a certain person or certain people to not follow me here on WA, is there an option I have somewhere to "unfriend" them? I know I can unfollo

You can. You go to the profile of the particular person and press the green " Follow button". If you go to your profile, you will see all your network. Here you can choose a person, which does not interest you.

I don't believe that there is a way to control if someone wants to follow you. You can only control what happens on your end. :)

Unless of course, someone is harassing you. In that case, you would want to contact Kyle and have him take care of it.

How can I make someone unfollow me?

In WP, I can "add new post" easily. I can write and publish a post. But how in the heck do I get it to show up on one of my pages? For instance, I have "verbs" and "reviews"

aahh same thing that happened to me

Thanks. I really think it needs to be emphasized in training that when creating new pages (about me & privacy policy), these are STATIC. That really threw me off.
Thankfully there are some great tutorials that explain this, but I really really wish it was made clear from the get-go.

I had that same question awhile back. The only thing you can do is make a 'sub-category' for a post that you would like on a certain page. Here is a link for some info on that subject. Hope this helps :-)

Your post will not show up on your pages. You can create a category and a drop down menus for your posts. The categories can be related to your pages.

Go to the search box above and search "creating categories", "Organizing Menus", etc. You will be able to find something to help you there.
Laura

Page can be display through Menu Link.
You can add the pages in menu.

Add the pages to what?
I went to the Menu --> Posts. I clicked the checkmark next to the post. Now what?
Is this the Menu area you mean?
Or do I go to Menu --> Pages? Or some other place?

You have 8 items in Main Menu.
Which is linked to post & which is linked to Page?
Pages are required to link with Menu Manually every time.

What are those 8 items? Do you mean Dashboard, All in One SEO, Posts, Media, Pages, Forms, Comments, and Feedback?

If so, where do I find the link, and how do I link it? If not, then which 8 items do you mean?

Thanks in advance! :)

The keyword is "difference mandarin chinese", which has 178 monthly searches and a QSR of 16. I'm understanding that I need to use this specific keyword phrase in my

I think for me, the problem is that the training doesn't show any actual examples of the keywords within a post - only how to find good keywords and what to do with them. But no examples of them in action. With that said, I've seen classroom training that does, but I'm still struggling with it.

For instance, a good one for me was "how to learn the chinese language".

Does this mean that within a post, I should write "In today's post, I'm going to show you how to learn the Chinese language.". It seems forced and too aggressive. But that's the specific keyword phrase that had a great QSR.

Or does it mean I can write "In today's post, we'll learn how to take a few of the most common words in the chinese language and put them into action!".

In both cases, I used all 6 of the words within a sentence.

Are they equally as good?

If your title is How to Learn the Chinese language then the second sentence (option) is fine.

Basically the keyword should be natural but Google isn't going to read lots of different sentences trying to piece together a keyword phrase - so learn, Chinese and language need to be relatively close together in order for the search engines to make the connection.

Your sub headings could be something like - Chinese language basic pointers - or main difficulties in learning the Chinese language - common errors in learning Chinese etc. this will all reinforce that your article is about learning the Chinese language.

Speaking for myself, I have always put the exact keyword in the first paragraph on everything I publish online. If it sounds to forced, you can always make it a H3 heading on the very first line of your post.

Example: Title "how to learn the chinese language"
H3 Heading: how to learn the chinese language - 3 Tips For Beginners

Then content: write freely.

Or find ways to make it work :If I wanted to teach someone how to learn the chinese language I would begin by explaining the four fundamentals.... etc

I tried using keywords that dont make sense, the temptation was too great. Be warned it doesnt work. Your qsr is really much much higher than what is displayed. I am now re writing all older posts with new low hanging fruit keywords. Victoria

Is this what you are after?: "difference between mandarin and chinese" Has 120 searches and 17 QSR. Because the keywords you have stated above (difference mandarin chinese) would bring the same google results as :"difference between mandarin and chinese" therefor the actual QSR would be 16 + 17= 33 QSR

"Whats the difference between mandarin and chinese" has an extra 1 QSR

Keywords should always make sense or you are not getting the true competition.

Thanks. So then yes, I should look for a different, more natural keyword.

Additionally, under the new post box in WP, there are 3 input boxes. Title, Description, and Keywords.

In the Keywords box, should I put "what's the difference between mandarin and chinese"? Or just "difference mandarin chinese"? Do we actually use these boxes?

Maybe those are there because they're part of the SEO Pack? If so, I'll look for tutorials on that, since I don't recall them being touched on in Course 2.

If you wrote a post called Whats the difference between mandarin and chinese, you would also rank for "difference mandarin chinese" and other variations.

I have never put keywords, title or description on any of my pages or posts. I do it for the home page only.

Josh you are just applying what was in lectures, that is why you are doing so great.

correct :)

Thank you. Yes, it only took about 3 hours from what I recall. But I admit I was freaking out. Patience, young Skywalker. :)

dns takes some time to propogate

You should contact Hostgator support.

Okay, I just went into my registar's account, and updated the DNS settings. It may take up to 48 hours. I'll see if that resolves it, since I didn't purchase the domain through Hostgator. While I wait, I'll keep learning. I'll update this (if I remember) with results after two days.
