My number one piece of advice would be to pace yourself. I find a lot of "newer" members get gungho for the first month or two, then when they don't see the results they expect, they quit. This is not a sprint. It's a marathon.

Excitement is good, but try to harness it in a manner that will be productive over the long haul. A lot of people start off writing a blog post every single day. If you can keep that clip up, that's great, but for most people, that pace is unrealistic for an extended time. Try to focus on posting one or two high quality posts per week (I do one). If you find yourself super enthusiastic now, save the other content you write now for the future when your enthusiasm might wane or for when your not feeling as inspired as you are now. I always try to have at least two blog posts waiting in the wings, just in case I have to go a week or two without writing.

Keep a journal (or blog here) about your milestones. That way when you start to feel stagnant, you can go back and track the success you've already made. That will re-invigorate you.
