Update on Progress
Per Kyle's directions in Course 4, I am posting an update on my personal and site progress with WA. First of all, thanks to all my fellow WA members for the support, encouragement and recommendations.
- 3 of my posts are ranked in the top 10 pages of Google search with the top one being on page 3
- Through Google Analytics I found out the site has been visited 36 times by someone in Russia, as well as visitors from 5 other countries besides the U.S. visitors.
- For my particular niche, Symbols of Christianity, monetizing may not come so easily, but I have a lot of blogging opportunities because the subject matter is so vast.
- Although the site has generated enough income to cover my WA dues for one month, the true measure of the site's success will be whether or not visitors learn and engage with the material.
The Wealthy Affiliate learning model is not an easy one for me because I have difficulty staying on task, and can quickly get distracted. However, I have been able to improve my focus and attention span by using the techniques taught by WA training and fellow members. This training has carried over into other areas of my life. (thank you!)
The site is www.symbolsofchristianity.com and I would appreciate you taking the time to visit, leave a comment and share.

A neat site. I see what you mean by monetizing being a hurdle, given the nature and subject of the site. I wonder if it might be a solution to compartmentalize the monetizing part of the site in a special section so as to avoid (and please excuse the huge exaggeration) any hint of 'moneychangers in the temple'. In other words, you could have some fixed commercial pages with information about and links to Bibles, representations of Christian symbols, etc, or whatever you are thinking of.
Those who become 'friends' of your website will no doubt think like Leviticus: "'If you make a sale, moreover, to your friend or buy from your friend's hand, you shall not wrong one another."
DavidQ: Great advise and thank you. I very much like your suggestions, appreciate your quotes and agree with them all. I have set up a special review page on the menu with book reviews. Hopefully this is what you are advising. thanks again! I am printing your suggestions for my files.
I'm glad if anything I said was useful! I see your book reviews, and am wondering if you'll have rather a lot of items in your submenu as you add more and more reviews. Perhaps a single Book Reviews item in the submenu might work well, linking to a page that has the links to all the reviews listed on the page? In this way, you can avoid crowding the submenu.
I was thinking of sectioning off the commercial side in a more definite way, but I think the above Book Reviews method would work.
Best of luck!
