Visual Editor problems in Chrome
This past week I had the most scary thing happening to me. At the time it was awfully scary anyway. I was in the midst of writing a post when all of a sudden, when saving a draft, all my text dissappeared. I panicked. What had happened to my visual editor. I immediately came on live chat, tried all the different procedure that fellow members were suggesting but nothing worked I am using the Flashpeak Slimjet browser which is Chrome based. I cleared the history, flushed the DNS, installed CKEditor. But I didn't like it because I couldn't insert a link to my other posts.
And then a light bulb came on in my head. As I was reading trough a troubleshooting post, it mentioned how plugins can sometimes cause conflict.
As I was going down the list of my plugins, I saw that I had both WP Edit and CKEditor installed. As I didn't like CKEditor, that is the one that I deleted, and I was happy when my usual familiar visual wordpress editor came back.
Which message I would like to sent out with this post. If having problems, make it a standard thing you check first. I just don't want you to having the same problem when you might be using a Chrome browser.
Good luck !

When editing i always draft a page/post in Live Writer before pasting it into the editor. I have found this useful when writing As it makes me feel a bit more secure.

Glad you got it sorted. I always write my content in Google Docs and save a copy of each to my hard drive and to my Cloud storage. I use Chrome on a Chromebook. In google docs I can format my posts with H1, H2, H3 headings etc, bullet points, numbered lists etc and I can also add links. I then copy-paste the complete post into a "New Post" (or Page) box.
I wouldn't even compose directly into my site's dashboard.
I do it all the time ....
