Scary Weather : Crazy People.

I have never experienced a tornado. I have experienced a severe tropical storm where trees were uprooted and some buildings were damaged but nothing like the damage I saw taking place in a video taken in 2017 which was shared with me a couple of days ago.

This is really scary footage of several tornadoes venting their fury and power over an area. . What got me was the people who were filming it. Why would anyone go to such lengths to get a story or earn a few dollars when they could lose their lives in the process?. These tornadoes worked together across the landscape like a giant vacuum cleaner sucking up everything in its path. It worked its way through homes, the airport, farmland with an insatiable appetite divulging everything in its path.

Houses were being demolished, cars and aeroplanes lifted up into the air and dumped someplace else, trees and power lines were coming down every which way. It was a crazy scene, I do not know the subsequent cost of this weather event in terms of infrastructure and human life but I do know that I would have been terrified if it were happening in my area and I would have chosen to be well bunkered down or right out of the area altogether.

No Helmets

Believe it or not there are some crazy people who consider more the adrenalin rush and the money they might make from acquiring live footage of such an event than they consider their own safety. All the money and celebrity status in the world is worth nothing if you fail to survive the experience. I will try to include a link to the video I am referring to so that you can see for yourself what I mean. These people were out there chasing these monsters with humungous pieces of debris flying around them. They did not even have helmets on. I am not sure if this is madness, stupidity or what, but it is suicidal and totally crazy. in my opinion. .

Tornado Video:

I am sorry but I am having trouble uploading this one probably because it belongs to National Geographic. They paid 1 million dollars for it so I guess those crazy people filming it were well rewarded in the end. However if anyone would like a link to it I can send it via email so just send me an email at jefreisia@gmail.com and I will forward it on. It is one of the scariest pieces of tornado footage I have witnessed.

Would you be crazy enough to chase and film something so fierce and dangerous?

To what lengths woud you go to get a story for your blog or web page here on Wealthy Affiliate?.

Julian Assange and Chelsea Manning are both paying very dearly for their attempts to procure a sensational story to share.

Would you risk life and limb for a story? Or are you like me and would prefer to read other peoples stories?

Some people love adventure at any cost,
even at the risk of their lives.
Pray that nothing will happen to them.

Have a wonderful day without tornado of course!!
Ingrid

Thanks Ingrid , It is crazy what lengths some people will go to for a story. my life seems incredibly mundane in comparison but I intend to live as long as I can.

Thank you Ingrid. Some people are totally crazy the lengths they go to for a story. My life seems mundane in comparison , but I intend to live a lot longer.

I wouldn't risk life and limb even for WA, so I guess I'll read others' stories as well.

I am with you Fran, the video I watched on these guys was quite scary. I value my life too much to go to such extremes.

That's one of the riskiest adventures.

Agreed, it is crazy. But some people value the experience more than life itself.

I would rather enjoy watching Nat. Geographic than be in the proceedings.

Me too but we are all different and there are a few crazies who thrive on the adrenalin rush.

I enjoy soft adventure - I've gone indoor skydiving, swam with salmon on Vancouver Island (with bears along the banks!), ziplined over the streets of San Francisco, and a few other crazy things, but didn't really feel like life or limb were in danger. My brother, however, went to Afghanistan 5 times and Iraq 4 times, totally risking life and limb, to fight for our safety. Now I want to write his stories. So I guess I'm a bit of both.

Thank you Jeanine, you have had some wonderful experiences. My life has been relatively tame. It is good for us t be challenged and get out of our comfort zone from time to time. I must admit I have done a few risky things, huka jetting in New Zealand, white water rafting and yes the zip line in the Philippines which were all fun but with all the safety precautions.
It is wonderful that you are going to write your brothers stories of his experience in the Middle East wars. Did he keep good records and pics?

He did a pretty good job at it. We'll see what we can use, as some materials may not be approved to share publicly.

I've seen tornado videos and hurricane videos (you know it's going to be bad when Jim Cantore shows up near you). I find heavy weather to be absolutely fascinating. I love watching thunderstorms and tornadoes, but I also know they are dangerous. They serve to remind me that we humans are so small in relation to the world.

Ellen

Thanks Ellen. I love watching thunder and lightning too, we had a storm last night and the power went off so we were treated with a sound and light show from heaven which was better than anything on TV.
We are small in the scheme of things but not insignificant.
