The Power of Spirituality in Business - Ethical & Conscious
Short and sweet tonight friends as I watch the sun go down....
I came across this short 1.5 minute video clip by Deepak Chopra, M.D., FACP. He is a world-renowned pioneer in integrative medicine and personal transformation, and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Metabolism. He is the author of more than 80 books translated into over 43 languages, including numerous New York Times bestsellers, and in a global internet survey, The World Post and The Huffington Post ranked him among the top 20 influential thinkers in the world, while TIME magazine describes him as one of the top 100 heroes and icons of the century.
He's also been one of my biggest spiritual influencers. I remember seeing him speak once at a small hotel in Toronto over two decades ago before he became the leader he is today in his field. I was in awe at how he stood alone on a stage with just a small table next to him holding a carafe of water and a glass. Beside the water was a crystal vase holding a single red rose, and with that simplicity, he spoke about metaphysics and quantum mechanics for two straight hours without a single note, and I fell in love with his reality and wanted to learn everything I could about it.
Twenty or more years later he is speaking about the power of spirituality in business, teaching students at Columbia College that there is more to business than making money. (be still my heart!) Here's hoping that ethical, conscious business will become the norm and the wave of the future.
Enjoy...
Warmly,
Heather :-)

He's a great man. Ethics in business - it's an oxymoron in so much business these days, where the drive to make money tramples on the needs of people and ignores ethics. With you, I hope this changes
Thanks, Margaret. I think this little video speaks volumes about the changes to come. Already there are established businesses (like WA for example) and new ones popping up all the time where ethics come first. It's a slow transition, but when conscious leaders step up to support and offer their expertise to the future generations, it creates a powerful opening for change. :-)
Isn't it amazing how powerful a message in just 1.5 minutes? Loved sharing this, Robin and glad you enjoyed. :-)
You are welcome, Buddle. Such a short clip with such huge insight. Hope all is well with you and your daughter. Many blessings for you both. Warmly, Heather :-)
You are so welcome, Debbi. This is very synchronistic!...I was just on your blog about to leave you a message. Nice pic and nature walk! Ok...heading back over there. :-)
I think it will be a huge leap for humanity if people would stand up proudly and acknowledge the connection between spirituality in everything they do, not just in business.
Unfortunately, too many out there think it's a quirky religion or something and feel "stupid" when the discussion comes up. Not to mention that it might not be "politically correct" and might offend the wrong person.
Thanks for sharing the clip.
Couldn't agree more with your first paragraph, Lesley. To acknowledge the spiritual in all that we do is a choice we can make. Many of us fear what we don't understand and as with any religion or culture, respecting the diversity of belief out there is key. So glad you enjoyed it Lesley. :-)
Always happy to share, Tom. How great that you've read some of his books. He's written so many! :-)
Heather,
That was very interesting and I see how that could definitely help with clearing your mind and being able to work better!
Thanks for sharing.
Sheila
I thought it both profound and encouraging to hear the message in this short video and that it was being broadcast mainstream (Fox Business News) rather than on some obscure alternative channel. Glad you found it interesting, Sheila. :-)
