There are many email offenders that will get your email caught as spam. I will list just 6 today or the post will take all day.
You may get away with one of the six but combine anymore than two and you are begging to get caught and sent to the Trash heap.
Let's take a look at the offending culprits, shall we
FREE
The word “free” in and of itself isn’t going to trip the filters, but phrases like “free membership”, “free money”, “free medications”, and “financial freedom” are red flags as well.

More than one ! is not necessary and redundant. It is a clear indication a spammer is on the loose.
Using all CAPS can be a no no

Putting a little emphasis in your content , Using ALL CAPITAL LETTERS is shaky and may not be considered spammy by itself or used very sparingly however we have all seen spammers deliver their content with the “caps lock” key fully engaged.
MLM or the Money
Just adding MLM, multi-level marketing, network marketing , business opportunity, make money now, Millions to be made, and crazy use of $$$ will elicit the spam filters antenna.
“Click here”
Links in your email labeled “click here” are not as good as having more descriptive wording in your links. Try "For more details" or "Information available here" It's less salesy (is that a word ?)
Hot Topic of the Month
This is a spammy topic that many marketers are not even aware of. You’ll want to avoid any of the hot spam topics of the moment like:
- Get medications Cheap
- E.D. drugs ( Viagra Alternative)
- mortgage loan modifications ( 5-minute application process)
Spam filters see these products thousands and thousands of times a day. This is the message we all see when a spammer seems to be following the rules except for his Subject or Product.
Really the main thing you have to remember to do is write valuable, relevant emails and send them to people who want to actually hear from you.
