Don't ever Defend Yourself To Them.
One of the things you'll encounter in your entrepreneurial journey, if you haven't already, are people who are going to scoff at what you are doing and put you down.
They aren't actually puting you down but rather their lack of ambition and drive to go for their dreams, that compels them to dump all over yours.
It's their problem not yours, yet it derails so many of us from our goals and dreams.
Because often, these "dream killers" can be friends and even close family members. Trust me, i know because it almost crushed me. My biggest nay sayer was my own wife.
What I've Learned is that it makes no sense whatsover to argue, explain or defend yourself. Because even when you start having success, many will still down you because it actually makes them feel better and that my friends is the Fact...
So rather than bow your head and feel hurt , angry or continue to defend yourself, stop listening to them and use that to fuel your dream or passion.
The minute you stop defending or listening to them, it sends up a clear signal that you are serious and nothing they say will ever bother or deter you.

You make some very valid points and give some great advice, as well. I find that the same thing holds true for any kind of self improvement.
I recently began a life changing "eating plan" (don't like to call it a diet) and I am now 25 pounds down with more energy and a sharper mind. People will still look at me and say, "that's not a healthy way to eat". Or they will just roll their eyes and say something like, "better you then me".
