Happy Birthday Eddie!
Hi, WA Friends!
Just a reminder that today is the late, great Eddie Van Halen's Birthday for those Rock guitar players and fans of his music!
I wrote a short article when he passed away from throat cancer on October 6, 2020.

In that article, I explained how he developed his famous "Brown Sound.
Of course, Eddie also perfected the two-handed guitar neck tapping technique for Rock, and the band Van Halen took the musical world by storm!
His son, Wolfgang (whose mom is Valerie Bertinelli), replaced Michael Anthony as bass player in the last Van Halen lineup. Wolfgang now appears as a guitar player in his touring band to keep his dad's music alive.
Remember this scene from the movie, Back To The Future I, where Marty puts the Walkman headphones on George McFly (his father) to make him think he is an alien from the future? Thatโs Eddie playing the song "Eruption."
Eddie also plays the guitar solo in the famous Michael Jackson song "Beat It."

I believe this is the first time I've heard about his passing, which blows me away, because I'm well familiar with this rock "God" and all that he accomplished. I offer my deepest respect for this fallen hero, and thanks for letting me know!
A little side note: My favorite band/guitar players have always been Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing of Judas Priest, but Eddie was certainly one of the greatest musicians to ever pick up a guitar, and his style is distinctly unique and unmatched by any of the other greats.
I couldnโt agree more with your assessment of Eddie!
Yes, it is heartbreaking, but he left us some awesome music! ๐
