Hi WA Friends!

This post is just in time for Halloween if you celebrate it! 👻

Seasonal music is one of those things that just makes life more fun. Each time of year has its own vibe, and the right music can take that feeling to the next level.

So, here are some of the favorite seasonal tunes that people look forward to. Let’s see if you feel the same way!

Halloween-Themed Tunes

If you’re a Halloween fan, you know it’s more than just candy and costumes - it’s all about the atmosphere. And the music? It’s what ties everything together!

Whether you’re getting down to “Thriller” or dancing like a zombie to “Monster Mash,” Halloween music is the best way to get into that spooky, fun vibe. Do these songs make your October feel like one big haunted party? Lol

My wife and I always look forward to the scary music and movies! We go to costume parties and love to meet the trick-or-treaters at our door! I was an out-of-control little kid at Halloween and used to scare my sister every chance I got with scary masks and jumping out from behind doors in a dark room. Lol 😆

Christmas/Holiday Songs

For many of us, the holidays don’t officially start until those classic Christmas songs come on. Mariah Carey, Bing Crosby, or even Frosty the Snowman - they’re like a big, warm hug that brings back all the best memories. Between the lights, the decorations, and those familiar jingles, even the biggest Scrooges start to feel the holiday spirit. Do these songs make you feel like you’re in a cozy winter wonderland?

My dad used to start playing Christmas albums in the house at least two weeks before the actual holiday! My mom ran around like a crazy woman, putting up holiday decorations and baking Christmas cakes and cookies. I ate so many cookies that she would have to give me Italian Alka Seltzer, called "Brioschi," which they still sell on Amazon!

Spring Classics

Spring is all about new beginnings - flowers blooming, warmer days, and those feel-good songs that just seem to fit perfectly. You know the kind: gentle acoustic tracks or bright pop songs that capture the excitement of everything coming back to life.

Rock classics like "Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles or "Mr. Blue Sky" by Electric Light Orchestra are perfect for this time of year. Don’t these songs make you feel ready to leave winter behind and embrace the sunshine?

I always put a killer sound system in my car, even back in high school. Spring was just warm enough to put the top down and blast my music to the world. Once, I got pulled over for "noise disturbance" by the same police officer who used to come to our house for music that my rock band used to play too loud. He couldn't believe it was me! Hahaha! 😎

Summer Hits

Summer is all about freedom - sunshine, hanging out at the beach, BBQs, and epic road trips with your favorite songs blasting. Nothing beats rolling down the windows, cranking up the volume, and just feeling the moment; it's spring music on steroids! Lol.

From "Summer of '69" by Bryan Adams to "Hot in Herre" by Nelly, or classics like "Sweet Home Alabama" by Lynyrd Skynyrd and "Born to Be Wild" by Steppenwolf, summer songs are what make those long, warm days unforgettable. Do you find yourself waiting all year just to feel that summer vibe again?

Growing up, we had these legionary cook-outs with neighbors, family, and friends. There were so many people that we had three grills going. My mother always hired the same Italian band to play on the patio while I blasted rock music by the pool. It was crazy fun at its very best! All these years later, not much has changed! Lol

Hi Frank

I agree that music makes the season!

The most memorable for me include Christmas, which would be barbershop Christmas music if my dad was home. If not, my mom loved the classics, until we found an album called Sunshine and Snowflakes, an all children choir that sang 40 Christmas songs, both classics and some newer (at that time). 🎄

When Spring and Summer show up, I like listening to everything form "Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles to "Summertime Girls" by Y & T. (You knew I would have to throw a hair band in there, Haha) 😜 🤣🤣

Keep Rockin!! 🤘😎🎸

Hi Frank! Your nostalgic stories are like memories of a good movie from yesteryear. So many good memories from back in the day! I also enjoy different styles of music to fit the season. Funny how there’s something perfect for every moment.

Rock on,

Thanks, Susan! 🙏

There’s nothing like great family memories! 😎

I am sure everyone will agree that Christmas music, like White Christmas, as well as others, takes us back to our younger days spent with family during the holiday season.

Hi Howard

Yup, our family holiday traditions, especially Christmas, get passed down through the generations! 😎

I love Christmas holiday songs. Reminds me alot about my childhood especially the gifts.

Hi Martin

Yeah, there was nothing better than Christmas as a kid, even better than birthdays! The gifts, food, and joy were incredible! 😎

It's Christmas by a mile, Frank. Most favorite time of the year - when I can be a kid again.

Like Andy said below, I enjoy the old hymns and classics, especially by classic artists like Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and others.

I also pull out the sheet music so I can tickle a few tunes on the ivory for everyone - my way of "Rockin' around the Christmas tree".

There wasn't anything better than walking through the mall and stores when I was a kid and seeing the decorations going up and hearing the holiday music weeks before the 25th.

Appreciate the post! 🎄 🤘🎸
Isaiah 🙂

Hi Isaiah

Yup, we listened to Christmas albums with the artists you mentioned, as well as every other Italian singer you could think of, like Tony Bennett, etc.

My mother used to play and sing Christmas songs to us as kids on the piano and ukulele.

As children, we didn't have any malls, so at Christmas time, we spent a whole day shopping in the stores of our capital city. The window displays were fabulous, and they gave away free "grab bag" presents to boys and girls.

Of course, the line to see Santa was always ridiculously long! Lol 😆

Rock On! 🤘
