Google or Alexa to rank a website?
Take a look at Kyle's review on Alexa:

Hi Francisco,
Alexa is one of the most misleading analytics programs out there, where Google Analytics is the best! I strongly suggest using Google analytics and ignoring Alexa altogether!
As James (Jaweda2k) mentioned below, Google Analytics + Google Webmaster tools is what you should install on every website that you create. You will find this in the training as you work through getting your website setup.

Hi, fjgomes.-I would say Google, though everybody brags about their alexa" rank. Kyle has a good review of Alexa, as Giludi wrote down below!
Yes definitely Google. A friend of min has told me about Alexa as his tool to see his ranking's .I already advised him to read the Kyle's review as you suggested . Thank you both for sharing.

I have not experience at all in this things.
Go through the 10 lesson intro. It does a great job of holding your hand through the process of setting up a website. You could easily do it in a day if you put aside a few hours.
You don't have to have any prior experience to learn about internet marketing just a willingness to learn. Good luck
