Time Management Works For Me
1st of all I want to say thank you so much for those of you who responded to my last blog entitled " It's OK To Take A Break" I honestly didn't think it was all that & a bag of chips, but apparently i struck a nerve with some of you. One response equated me to being some kind of SUPERMAN. I wish I was, but what I can say is that I'm very driven & I have a lot on my plate. in order to accomplish all my goals I have to do 2 things.
- Work smart. Not hard
- Spend my time wisely
The way I see it is time is the most valuable commodity I have. The thing is nobody but our creator knows how much time we have. Hence the saying "Don't Waste My Time". If someone else wastes your time that's unfortunate. If you waste your own time, well shame on you!!!!!!!! I break down how I use my time into 3 catagories What I must do, what I'm obligated to do & what I'm free to do. Things I must do are things necessary to live like sleeping, eating & heigene stuff. Things I'm obligated to do are things like your job, making the meals, mow the yard, do laundry, church, children sports & programs etc..... The things I'm free to do is just what the name emplies. Free or ME time. Free Time has 2 components to it as well. Pleasure = Leisure time & Profit= dedicated to my business.
So Here Is The Break Down
Some would call it structured I call it compartmentalization. Here is how it works. I break a 24 hour day into 1 hour increments or compartments. Then I prioritze what I'm going to do for that 24 hour period starting with Must dos get scheduled 1st, then obligations, then whatever is left is Free time. I'll give you a breakdown of today & you will see what I mean. since I cannot assign colors to differentiate between the must do, obligated to do, or free to due. I will give each a symbol, so you can see how the time breaks down.
!!! - Must do &&&- Obligated $$$ - Free
2/11/16
!!! - 12:00am - 5:30am- Sleep
&&&- 5:30am - 6:00am - Wake up Sophia & get her to the Bus Stop for school.
$$$- 6:30am - 7:30am- WA- welcome new premium members & reply to blog comments
&&&- 7:30am - 8:00am- Wake up Kinsey & Masen
!!!- 8:00am - 8:15 - Make & Eat Breakfast
$$$- 8:30am - 9:00 - WA Certification courses (Level 2 Lessons 7 & 8)
&&&- 9:00am - 10:00am Take Kinsey to the Doctor
&&&- 10:00am -11:00am Fill perscription take Kinsey to school
$$$- 11:00am -1:00pm Answer WA messages, Research content & build out website.
!!! - 1:00pm - 2:00pm Take shower & Eat Lunch
&&&- 2:00pm - 3:00pm Drive to work (Regular Job)
&&& - 3:00pm - 8:00pm (work)
!!! - 8:00pm - 8:30pm (Dinner)
&&& - 8:30pm - 11:00pm (Work)
&&& - 11:00pm - 12:00am
As you can see I got a lot going on. If I had access to colors or a spread sheet here, I could make it more visual, but this is how I do it. Tomorrow I'm off from work so my Free hours will be a lot more & will be dedicated to my business. I'm currious to see who will do the math. I'm too tired for that. lol

I like how you have scheduled your time, making it in life does begin from time management and every thing in your life follows suit!
Time management is important but so is down time as well. Take it from someone who did burn out
No worries. Nothing upsets me. Life is too short to waste time getting upset over things I cant change or things people say or do. I move on & move up. lol
The way I do it is I prioritize my day by putting my must dos & obligations in the day calendar 1st. Then the only thing left is the Free time. So from there I delegate how much free time I'm gonna dedicate to the business & how much free time is for my leisure.
That is a busy schedule. How are you going surviving on less than 6 hours sleep a night? But we do what we have to do to care for our family needs. Organization is key.

Wow! That's good. Every moment is planned...I really wish and hope I can be as good as you at organising my time. Thanks again for sharing this!
For me in a perfect world every moment would be planned. Unfortunate I neglected to mention the X-factor in my blog. The X factor called life!!!!! If you look at my above schedule in the 9:00am-10:00am slot, you will see that I took my daughter to the doctor. That's because on Monday 2/8/16 I spent all morning in the emergency room with my daughter. Why? because she fractured her left arm when her brother shoved her into a tree for calling him a name at the bus stop in front of all of their friends.
That surely wasn't planned, but it was something I had to deal with & definitely cut into time I had designated for my WA business. GRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!
Life! Hope she's OK ;-)
She's probably going to wear a soft cast for a few weeks. Hoprfully she has learned not to call her brother names. As for her brother. He is writting me a 500 word essay on what it means to be a big brother & a gentleman. His sister is left handed and has to write with her right hand for now so he has to write his essay left-handed. lol. I'll break him yet
