What could one make of the promotional banners?

I have been here for quite some time now but I think I've not made much efforts to promote the wealthy affiliate University.
On the basis of the above I've decided to go on with its promotion, but before I get started there's a question that needs clarification.
What really is the use of the promotional banners? Could I get some help here? If I use them in my site and someone is referred here to wealthy affiliate how could I get the credit for referring that person here?

Promotional WA banners are essentially your affiliate links. You can place them on your page, your post or your sidebar. Just remember- when you're placing it on your content page, the content should be relevant to what WA is about.
