About Foxychops
Joined October 2016
I live in Hermanus, which is a small town in Western Cape, South Africa known as the Whale Capital of the World because all the beautiful whales come to our little bay the same time every year to have their babies. I am currently full time employed for the past 2 years in a managerial position, but prior to that I was on my own for 26 years and did also dabble in internet marketing, but didn't really succeed so am going to give it another bash as I do love it so and believe I can make a break through if I consistently work at it

Hi there, My name is Yolande and i am very pleased to find fellow South Africans on this site.

I was wondering if you could perhaps give me some more insight on your experience with WA. This is my second day and so far I love the training sessions. The information is very detailed and although a bit overwhelming, I do have the confidence that I will be able master all the tasks. I suppose my most important question would be to find out a bit more about the success rate and is it really possible to start my own business and be in a position to work from home...

I have tried similar online affiliates in the past and they have turned out to be scams.

It will be really wonderful if you could connect with me as I quite a few questions :)

Have a wonderful day further!

Kind Regards,

Yolande

Hi Yolande - nice to also meet a fellow South African. From my perspective and experience with WA, is yes the training is the best and easy to follow - a little overwhelming at first but good nonetheless ... I have a few websites that I created on here, and in my experience I know that if you work them they will succeed - I have had a bit of success with my websites, but I don't have enough time to dedicate to just doing posts, etc the consistency that is required for success - if you are looking for quick fix income, then it is an illussion, success in anything takes time, dedication and hard work ... if you have that, with this training then yes it is possible to create a successful business online and work from home

Thank you very much for your feedback @foxychops
I really do appreciate it am very excited to proceed with the training. I have just written my first blog ever! and find it quite surprising how easy it was. Super excited to find my "niche" and I look forward to having my first website up and running!.

Enjoy the beautiful Hermanus and I hope we will stay in contact!

Have a wonderful day :)

Hi Foxychops

Interesting, I used to visit Cape Town regularly in the late 90s, my ex-daughter-in-law is a Cape colored
I have some many many stories to tell about Cape Town, we used to run an establishment on long Street.
Happy times, fond memories.
Anyway, I wish you the best of luck and if I can help you in any way, just ask.

Hi there Foxy,
I received an email saying you were following me. If you are you're welcome. Lucky you to have whales in your backyard. We had big turtles you could ride on, in the Solomon Islands. I see you've been a WA for some time. Is your niche about the whale capital of the world?
sylvia

Hi Sylvia - the turtles sound amazing too ..
No, I have 3 niches - an online shop that is a replica of my bricks and mortar shop here in Hermanus. Affiliate Newbies, so I can share what I have learnt here, and about My Recovery - am a survivor of cancer and alcoholism, so can write a lot about it. What niche are you embarking on?

Hi and thank you for following me. I am following you back! :) Wish you much success in you career! You can do this and make it work! As you can see, I am a newbie. I was also in a managerial position(asst. manager of a hotel), but that particular job just wasn't my cup of tea, so here I am. Right now I am facing the rather difficult challenge of being a consistent 'blogger'. Sometimes we help ourselves by helping others. Maybe we can motivate each other to succeed? If I can be of any help, don't hesitate to reach out.
Enjoy the rest of your day! :)

How are you doing - there and in WA? Such a beautiful part of the world that you live in!! I was there, hmm, March/April last year. No whales and a bit chilly, but stunning. We lived in Fish Hoek.

I just looked at the Harbour Rock Seagrill and Sushi Bar.
R450 for crayfish R195 for lamb shanks. That's pretty good for a place right on the water with the view. About the same price as a pub here in Sydney. If it was on the water it would be at least double in Sydney. Nice view looks beautiful

I did look up Hermanus on Google - such a nice setting to start with and whale spotting in Hermanus is in the top five!!

I can imagine that the energy is different - every year it must be a treat, may be better than a Christmas present, but anyways a happening, to have mothers and their newborns close at hand.

Wishing you very well in Hermanus and a good start of the week-).

I appreciate so much your update!!! - Whales are sacred for me. We as human beings caused too much harm in their communities ( unfortunately the consciously inflicted harm only starts here), that every little bit of happiness thrills me .. this may sound a bit crazy, but after all I am crazy -).

I was thinking .. why you do not make an extra website, dedicated to the whales of Hermanus??? I looked it up - http://whalesofhermanus.com/ and it is still available!!!

Just a word to you. It is nice if you respond to the comments people make when they follow you. With so many friends I know this is time consuming but a quick thanks would be great. You may have done this at some time but I went down and couldn't see any.

Work hard, have some fun and don’t forget to ask questions.

Hi Laurie,

I'll bet that is a beautiful sight to see the whales when they come to visit.

You are right, you can succeed if you work at it consistently.
I came from the world of people who use computers just to send and receive email. It was a big deal for me a few years ago to learn how to attach something to an email in order to send it to someone.

So, now with the help of a friend that I met here at WA, I have a website almost built, and am thrilled that I have learned so much.
However, I also know that I have a lot more to learn.

I wish you every success.

I wish you luck. I think that Wealthy affiliates will help me create a web presence for my very colorful and full life, that I would love to share. There has to be some value in having an exceptional life. Now that it has been entirely destroyed, my my ex, who seems to have co-opted the courts of this county putting a handicapped woman in poverty through an incredibly unjust divorce, against an incredibly skilled DVM,MBA. And post divorce litigation, ruled first that I was truly indigent, then ruled that I could no longer live in the home, I was still court ordered through divorce, to pay half of the mortgage on. Grrr. I have many books, on many topics to write, many blogs to write, and hopefully wealthy affiliates, will aid me in using them well.

Good evening to you Laurie, my name is Ken and I welcome you to WA and thank you for the follow. My websites never ranked or made it out of the basement until I joined WA and started learning a better way (the WA way) of writing content, SEO and keyword research. Jay gives a free tutorial training video every Friday evening that has to be my top pick. Whenever you have doubt or questions, ask the community. They are the secret sauce to WA. I look forward to working with you and wish you much success and prosperity in your journey.

And so after reading your profile, I wish you all the luck and prosperity that comes from the hard work that you will put in getting this up and going. I know that you will do it. I hurts my heart to hear any town named the "whaling capital of the world" though, I'm such an animal lover and with what they are doing with whales and sharks even these days, I think it's a shame. I'm not blaming this issue on you, please don't take it like that. It just hurt my heart to know there are places in our world that are known for destroying our great stuff is all. Take care and good luck to you. Raise enough capital to begin changing what your spot in our world is known for! There you go. Talk soon.

No, no, no ... you got it all wrong - my profile said the "Whale Capital of the World" which means that all the whales come to our bay at the same time every year to have their babies - I too am an animal lover - OMG, I cringe at the thought of whaling anywhere, and I certainly would never put it on my profile. Click on the link that says "Whale Capital of the World" - there is a video showing how beautiful it is - thanks for success wishes, I wish you the same

Oh there is no link, it is on my other website - I will put it on the website above so you can see that we are an animal loving country :-)

oh so sorry; how perfect is that? babies? gotta love that one. that would be a great site. Thanks for correcting me for sure, glad to hear it. I read it "whaling" what an idiot. Well I'm happy for all the little whales any ways.
Thanks again.

Yes it is amazing to see these magnificent creatures breaching up close and personal (that you can almost feel the splash) and then watching little ones copying their mommas with a little splash - Whales always return to where they were born which is why around Aug - Nov we sometimes have a count of 200 in the bay - it really brings the tourists and you can feel the energy emanating from these creatures. We are always sad when they leave

Hello. I've worked on the ocean out of Oceanside, California. We take people out to see and enjoy the grays as they migrate from the Bering Sea to the Gulf of Mexico. We don't hurt them. :) Now the sea lions is a different story. Geoff. P.S. Kidding bout the sea lions. They are protected and a big problem.

Laurie, I see you are making some good progress through the Affiliate Bootcamp. Just wanted to pop by and see if you need a hand with anything?

I also wanted to mention the success rates of Bootcamp. Absolutely everyone that has taken action on all of the phases of Bootcamp has a business that is generating consistent income online. MANY of these folks are going to be at our super affiliate conference next year.

I want this to be you and I want you to succeed with your promotions. So, please promise me that if you ever need a hand or feel stuck as you move forward, that you will get in touch with me!

Trust me, I know things can be a little overwhelming sometimes and I don't want you feeling like that.

Anyways, just checking in. Get back at me if you need anything Laurie.

Hi Kyle

Thanks for note ... Just gone over Lesson 5 on Bootcamp and was going to use my link to promote to a list I already had - but I tested it using a lead's details and it didn't really work or reflect my side - is this because I am already logged on?

Also, i.t.o. the list building with the affiliate links, do those lists belong to us or WA ... as I was wondering if there is a way to get those leads into an autoresponder?

Do you have email examples to send?

Lastly, I'm from South Africa, do you have many South Africans in this community?

Cheers

Laurie

Yeah, that is because you are logged in. If you log out of WA and click that link, you will see what a user sees.

If someone joins WA through your affiliate link, you will get full credit for the sale. Obviously any details that someone gives us when they set-up their account are private and our sensitive data that we host, but through time you will be able to build a list on your website and build your own following (which you are going to learn about).

Since this is the Internet, the opportunity is very global in nature. Regardless of your location in the world, Wealthy Affiliate can work for you and is working for many others.

We have many people here at WA from South Africa that are experiencing great success and we have MANY people from EVERY single country in the world. It's awesome!

Your country will not limit your success and I really do look forward to seeing you progress as you move through the training.

Hi Kyle

Thanks for reply and great to also hear that my fellow South Africans are also enjoying this programme. I have no doubt that this programme will have global appeal.

I do however want to spend the majority of my time and advertising money promoting WA, and by doing so want it to be a double success by building my own list at the same time - is there a way I can do that within this programme, or do I have to build my own lead capture page? If I do have to build my own lead capture page, is there an affiliate link that doesn't make them have to do that again, but rather allows them to just register?

Also, if we subscribe to Jaaxy, there is an affiliate side there, but are we going to learn how to plug that into WA without having to market the 2 programmes separately? For instance, I got to Jaaxy through WA, and I am sure a lot of the new members will too, so what I am looking to do is put my Jaaxy affiliate link on via here. Is this possible? And of course visa versa if I decide to promote Jaaxy instead.

Lastly, can we build an affiliate side to the Domain's that are purchased when our referrals go Premium? This programme could then become 3 x more profitable than just for the referral, and will be far more encouraging to invest bigger tom in advertising. I already an an affiliate with HostGator, but I know WA probably uses another service provider, I am sure they too offer affiliate programmes.

I intend going Premium on the 26th ... I have been waiting until then to ensure that there is always money in the bank on recurring payment days.

But I look forward to promoting WA and hope that my suggestions could be taken into consideration.

Regards

Laurie

You can definitely integrate an autoresponder into your website Laurie, by all means this is definitely something that you can do. I would recommend that first you focus on getting traffic to your website, then integrate an opt-in process, but that is completely up to you.

And yeah, there is a Jaaxy affiliate program as well. Simply register over at Jaaxy.com and you automatically get access to that. Once you have your affiliate link there, you can also add it here at WA if you want to get credit for all referrals that you drive to WA, that end up joining Jaaxy. A win/win.

I know you are going to love Premium Laurie and I really do look forward to working with you!

Hi Kyle

Firstly, I logged out of my account to test my affiliate links, and they definitely don't work. nothing happens when you create an account, when you try again it says that this user exists so login, when trying to login, it says it doesn't exist - can you please check that before I decide to go Premium.

Secondly, I do know how to build my own lists using an autoresponder from a website, what I was asking is that I want to build my own list from promoting WA ... then I notice in one of your replies you said - "Obviously any details that someone gives us when they set-up their account are private and our sensitive data that we host, but through time you will be able to build a list on your website and build your own following (which you are going to learn about)." So what you are basically saying is that your affiliates are building lists for you? How can name and email be sensitive data for hosting, if we brought it in, does that not become our data for communicating and building relationships?

Thirdly, what about the domain affiliate question I asked, please refer and revert.

Thanks

L

That is because you are trying to create an account yourself. You cannot create multiple accounts here at WA, others will be able to go through your affiliate links and join though Laurie. So yes, they absolutely do work. By nothing happens, what are you referring to there. Are you filling out the form and then clicking submit?

No, affiliates are referring people to WA and they join our services. You can absolutely build a list on your website, but data people share with us is not data we can share with the world. If you want to collect information about someone, that needs to be done on your site. There are companies that offer referral details, but those are incredibly invasive programs and absolutely breaches of privacy.

You can refer people to the domain page on WealthyAffiliate.com if you want to promote domains first. I would recommend that you do that if you are looking to promote the domain platform, but anyone that you refer here at WA that ends up purchasing a domain, you get full $1 per sale recurring for each domain you sale. If someone buys 10 domains, you get $10 recurring annually from that one WA referral alone.

Moving forward we are going to have many more widgets that you can use to build out domains.

Hi Kyle

Re affiliate link. I sent an email to a friend and checked on their PC and the same thing happened to them - they put in their details, submitted and nothing happened, just a warning message saying that user exists so login. When trying to login, it says user doesn't exist. So I am not trying to create another account myself, just trying to get my friend on board. How else can I test my affiliate links?
