Ideas wanted for my unused domains!
Looking through my hosting account, I have a fair few domain names that I still own but have never used - or were used briefly before I took the site down for whatever reason...
I would love to hear your ideas how I could use these domain names for IM purposes - I mean what sort of niche websites would you create with these??
These are just some of what I have registered with nothing on... some are quite bizarre I'll admit!
- auctionchallenge.co.uk
- box5d.com
- linkasite.co.uk
- ratedbusiness.org.uk
- shippingwholesale.co.uk
- socialgenealogy.co.uk
- utilitybill.co
- cheesychips.co.uk
- flightcaptain.co.uk

I'll leave it at those 10, there are more that I'm sure would make you ask 'What was he thinking when he bought that??'

Wish I had a more productive reply for you Paul, but I'm drawing a blank . I did want to thank you for inspiring me to get off my derriere and review my own list of owned domains though. They do accumulate don't they? :) Thanks for the nudge!
6. i have studied genealogy. you could use it for an affiliate site. The number of people looking for companys to trace their ancestry is huge and on the up. at least it is here in ireland. By being an affiliate, you wouldnt have to do to much seeing as the domain is just sitting there doing nothing. earning a big fat zero.
Yep, I think this one of the better of my unused domains - I am very into genealogy myself. Thanks for your comments. Paul
Any domain that you don't use for an actual site can always be forwarded to an affiliate offer then your domain can be promoted on YouTube, Facebook, articles, etc...
The .uk can be limiting on some things, coming from the US, someone may think the site/link/product only applies to UK.
Head over to http://ubersuggest.org/ and enter in your main keyword for each domain, this will give you an idea what people are searching for, give you ideas on what to write about, and give you some ideas how to monetize the site.
Hey Mark, Thanks for pointing us to that ubersuggest.org site. Think that may come in handy for a few different things! Appreciate it. :)
Hi. Here is a tip from someone who knows very little about such things. Do you have the Jaaxy.com Pro or Enterprise. If so plug them in and see what comes up.
Hi Paul
#9 flightcaptain.co.uk caught my eye since I recently got caught up in flight simulation. Always wanted to get a pilot's licence but never got around to it, so this allows me to live my dream without the expense. The big bonus is I walk away from my frequent crashes. But I digress. If you do some research, you will find it to be a world wide hobby enjoyed by tens of thousands and Amazon carries many flightsim products, some of which sell for up to $600.00 and more.
Hi Drew, thats a good idea, thanks I will definitely look into that further - that would be an interesting niche to get involved in. I got that one when I was promoting holiday flight bookings some time back. Thanks again, Paul
What type of sites do you want to build? Many of the titles would go well with review sites, with pro's and con's of each product or service especially 1.4.5.7.8.and 10. 2 I have no idea, except maybe a science fiction site! 3 a service to provide links, 6 a fun meet up to do research and share resources 9 either a pilots diary or sci-fi.
I'm sure you will get lot's of ideas from members. I am always amazed at their imaginations!
Hi, thanks for your ideas, I really like your idea of sci-fi related for box5d actually - I hadn't ever considered a connection like that, but yes, it could suit it well! Social Genealogy was going to be just as you suggested, until I ran into problems building a site to suit my needs. Thanks, Paul

You could learn how to be domaineer or create a landing page to link from your productive site. Wrote a discussion on this some time ago, quite a learning experience happened.
