Pocket watches were the most common type of watches from their development in the 16th century until the introduction of the wrist watch after World War I according to Wikipedia,the free encyclopedia. This evolution would be the beginning of many time keeping pieces and in my opinion paving the way for much needed evolution like water resistant watches, digital, LED ,smart and luxury watches just to name a few of these changes from the first time keeping piece.

Then with the introduction of the wrist watches followed much needed beneficial additions into and on the wrist watch as time went by. These introductions were more than just time on a wrist watch but you could now be able to see the date, day and month too. With that being said the evolution continued and watches were made to be water resistant but more and more was done to the wrist watch with the arising need of luxury watches, rich mineral resources like platinum and gold to name a few have been used and are still used today to make these luxury time pieces like the Rolex watches.

Yes there are smart watches today with Bluetooth, GPS and heart rate detecting systems on them but in my opinion the Rolex watches have been and still are a cut above the rest hence Rolex watches are still sort after time pieces all over the world, there is a reason why most of the rich, famous and successful people have Rolex watches and that is because these watches are highly associated with success plus they are beautifully crafted by the best jewelers with beautiful designs too and use high quality materials on them for your piece of mind. Every one is entitled to their opinions.
