Hinamatsuri - Girl's Day Celebration in Japan.
Today March 3 is Japan Doll's Festival "Hina matsuri.
"What is Hinamatsuri?,
It is a doll festival, is observed on March 3 to celebrate female children and pray for their continued health and happiness. During the holiday, also known as momo no sekku (peach festival), families display ceramic dolls dressed in the ornate, decorative robes of the ancient imperial court disposed on red-cloth covered platforms.
The dolls are said to be representing the emperor, empress, attendants, and musicians in traditional court dress of the ancient days "Heian period". We use them to pray for girls’ prosperity, health and, traditionally, a stable and successful marriage.
How I wish to upload the pictures of my Hinamatsuti dolls that I decorated in my living room, but it's saying "The file you are attempting to upload is larger than the permitted size".
HAPPY HINAMATSURI!
Warm regards,
Lyn
