We were Blind To The Truth

Not until I watched the video from Miles Beckler who demonstrates the concept -

This is not a sexy concept and something especially newbie marketers do not want to hear.
However, it is imperative that we realize this is the path to success!
A quote by formal president of IBM Mr.Thomas Watson -“If you want to increase your success rate, double your failure rate.”. Once we realize that failure truly leads to success, we can give our self permission to make a choice.
Remember, failing does NOT make you a failure...
But trying the same thing over and over....might make you insane.

True. That's why we have to always monitor our performance against our objectives to ensure we are hitting our targets. In our case it's important for instance to understand Google Analytics so that we can implement strategies with purpose. If we don't then we are just shooting in the dark.
Content is king, and consistency. That's all required.
Of course you'd needing have the right mindset and attitude to see things through. When we apply ourselves anything can be achieved.
Skillset can be learned.
We either win or we learn.
