Try This One On For A Better Fit

I didn't care for the blog I wrote yesterday. It contained too many lofty words and not enough down-to-earth feelings. So, have written a new one.

Oh, yes, I still like the Emerson quote: "If you cannot be free, be as free as you can." When I wrote that post, I used ideas from many people, and, no, did not use AI. However, I didn't really give my own personal ideas on freedom, so will do so now.

So, how do I feel about freedom? First, those of us living in the U.S. can consider ourselves fortunate for our freedom. I do not think we should take it for granted. When we do, we weaken it. We must try for a position of strength.

We have freedom from oppression. Does that mean we have total freedom to act however we wish? No, not really. That could be considered anarchy.

Our freedom has self-constructed boundaries. We must act in our best interests and also consider the rights and feelings of those around us.

We have freedom to choose how we will act. If we wish to change our reaction about something, we are free to do so.

As stated, freedom cannot be absolute, as that leads to anarchy. We must choose rules by which we govern ourselves. We must protect the right to make those rules, through just laws that consider all sides of an issue.

Sadly, at times we fall short of this goal, but must try our best to achieve it.

Consider our online businesses as an expression of our freedom. We choose a niche and clothe it in posts that provide good and valuable information for our followers. No one tells us what we must write. We have the freedom to choose.

At night before sleep, I count my blessings and express gratitude for all I've received. I snuggle into my warm bed and feel the peace that comes when there is no war. I feel so fortunate to live in this place, especially at this time when so much of the world careens into chaos.

I relish my freedom, do not take it for granted, and pray that I will never lose it. May your world be as blessed as mine has been. Your freedom is a precious gift, protect it as well as you can.
