On 18.1.2019 my darling father passed away and whilst it was hard my Dad had a peaceful death, one full of love, courage and kindness.

During this time, I reminisced about my life with Dad, there were good and not so good times (as everyone has), but during this time, I realised how much I loved my Dad, and as my father took his last breath with only me in the room, I began to question LIFE

This was even more poignant, when walking into the Palliative Care unit, 8 hours after my father took his last breath, to find his room, cleaned with new sheets and pillows “ready to go for the next patient”, it was like he had never been there. And whilst the staff at the Palliative Care unit were amazing and I could not fault them, I was struck by the ability for society to move on so quickly, whilst I was still trying to come to grips with what had just happened.

Why am I writing this in WA.... very simple - Not only did I question what life was all about, I seriously looked at who made the rules in society that you must work 5 days per week, shift work, second jobs until you are at retirement age, just to meet with societies needs and expectations. How do we not see that the way we work in the 21stCentury is no different from the Agricultural and Industrial revolution, whilst the wealth was shared, we are still a slave to larger organisations and chained to offices, surrounded by walls, with a window for a view - we work extremely hard, to keep a roof over our heads, money in the bank and cars in the driveway and are often called the working poor.

But for "What" tell me, why do we do this to ourselves, where is the quality of life, if you are kept chained to a job where you can easily be replaced!!

My partner Ross Hall who has a blog called http://theothersideofpayday.com commented to me the other day ………… if you looked at the best use of your personal time, you would say it is not Monday to Friday, but the evenings, weekends and holidays where you feel free and happy to be yourself and indulge in the life that you are so often separated from. Therefore, if you worked for another 10 years, you would only have 40 weeks of freedom which equates to less than 1 year.

This is a pitiful exchange for your most valuable and precious time – Your Life

So my friends at WA – I am not after sympathy, I wish you to follow your dreams, keep true to yourself, don’t be a slave to the expectations of others, for we only have one chance at this life….. I look forward to following your journeys in 2019.

I am very sorry about the loss of your father.

After reading this, I need to call my father tomorrow just to say hi.

I have worked solely for myself for the last 3 or 4 years. I'm losing count. In many ways, I work much harder and longer hours than when I had a JOB. Yet, I love my life.

I hope that you are able to take time to enjoy the learning journey and building a business of your own. It may be the hardest you have ever worked to get it to the point of profitability. Yet, when you are pursuing dream of having your own life; it doesn't seem like work.

Best wishes.

Sondra thank you hunnie much appreciate - call your dad, tell him how much you love and miss him, these are the words that every dad wants to hear (as they get older), they want to know if they did a good job raising you..

I look forward to following you and your journey xoxoxo take care
