Alright friends here we go. Time for an update of my metal detecting site that I'm building with the Wealthy Affiliate training. I have been trying really hard not to rush ahead and go step by step with the training. I have a learned a lot of things up to this point that I wasn't aware of before. How to target specific keywords and research their profitability. How to implement a social networking strategy to promote my website. How to navigate wordpress, how to structure my posts to draw in my audience and not lose them. (pics and white space for blocks of text and the like)

I do still have two struggles at this point that are really making me want to pull out my hair. One being the intermittent functionality of loading pictures onto wordpress. I receive the HTTP error. I have researched a lot on this and can't seem to find a solid answer. One article right here at WA did help by having me rename and compress my files. That worked some, but it is still hit or miss. Any feedback on this issue is appreciated.

The second being google adsense. It seems so simple in the tutorials, I just make my ad and paste the code in a text widget. The only problem is that block stays yellow for days on end, not sure why. Any feedback on that is appreciated also.

The community has been great so far, everyone seems eager to help. I kind of view this place as an echo chamber. We all follow each other's social stuff, we comment on one another's sites, ......like a little training camp to build up one another's site strength until we come up on the radar of the rest of the world and become established. For the gardeners in the bunch we are like root hormones or something.

I have only been at this for one month so I'm pretty excited with where things are at so far. I'm of course waiting and hoping for more and more traffic, to see some sales go through. I still have a lot of work to do on that end of things. I still need to get a lot of experience with the items in my niche, and the hobby in general so I will be better equipped to give higher quality reviews. I'm just going to stick with the process and continue building content and following the steps. So far so good.

I'm thankful for the training and glad to have people around trying to figure out the same things, the team atmosphere is good. I will try to keep this blog updated as I progress and hopefully I will be posting dollar amounts in the future lol. While I love the hobby and building my site is fun, if it doesn't translate into dollars I will eventually have to abandon ship. Lets hope that doesn't happen.
