Podcast Launch Planning

Hello WA Family 👋

I have not been active on the platform lately. Besides being busy with teaching and my personal life (family and personal health issuess, etc), I am in the middle of preparing for my Podcast which will be an additional page on my website.

Yesterday on Partha's blog post: Congratulations - you may have already created a free e-book, I left a comment that creating e-books is on my to-do list. However, right now, I am focusing on launching my podcast.

Podcast has been something I have wanted to do. I am inspired by one of WA members, MikeBeatty after I read his blog post: Podcasting is so HOT right now. Here's why. So, I bought a mic several months ago. This month I am pushing myself to get the plan done and actually launch the podcast by the end of the month.

Here's what I have done so far. It's not much but I know I am getting there.

Just like when we start creating a website, we'll need to come up with a niche, who is the target audience, our "why", logo, then the content.

I have come up with a plain simple logo cover. Please let me know what you think.

I realize it is super simple. I created it on Canva in under 15 minutes. So, I conducted a poll to find out what my Instagram followers think of the logo. I got 50% yays and 50% nays. I definitely will appreciate feedback from you all.

The "Why"

This is an important part of the planning process because it will help me to define the direction I want to go with my podcast.

In a nutshell, I would like to dedicate my podcast to helping people who are struggling to heal from mental illness so that they can live a stress-free and happier life. Also, I want to raise the awareness that mental health is just as important as physical health.

So far, I have written down questions and answers for my "why." Here are the list of questions:

The Perfect Listeners

Next is determining who is my perfect listener, my target audience.

Yesterday I wrote about the ideal listeners, who are they, the demographics, etc. Here is a list of questions for this part of my planning process.

The Cornerstone Titles

Today I am going to create titles for my first 3 episodes. I realize that they have to be Google-able. So, I was thinking of using Jaaxy as a part of my title making process.

Here at WA, we are taught to find keywords for our website's content using Jaaxy. WA Family, do you think Jaaxy will be great for finding Podcast titles as well? Because podcast episode also counts as content. Great titles will be a great hook for my listeners to push that play button and actually listen to my podcast.

Why do I want to find 3 titles for my first podcasts? Because they will be my cornerstone episodes that will define the importance of listening to my podcast and what my listeners can benefit from.

Podcast Content

Moving forward, I will invite guests for interviews and or share their experiences as a caregiver, mental illness sufferer, bully victim, etc.

Podcasting is so exciting and yet scary at the same time since I haven't tried it before. I believe this journey will help me to demonstrate my passion and expertise in the niche I choose, increase my website's visibility, build a wider audience, and connect with like-minded people who want to raise awareness about mental health.

Anyhow, what do you all think about my plan? I would love to move forward and definitely do not want to stay in the planning process far too long. As you may have guessed, I am the kind of person who wants things to be prepared with a plan. I cannot just do it and get it done. This kind of mindset is something I am still working on to change.
I am telling myself that I just need to get started and get the systems in place to do it all effectively. Then I can relax and have fun with it.
