Giving focus and thought to the decisions that we make in life sounds like the obvious step. No matter what our initial take on something is, there are crucial if not pivotal points in all of our lives that require careful and thoughtful consideration. I realize that I've missed this quite overt step so many times though. Why?
I've been questioning myself about a lot of things lately but the answer to why I've been running through important decisions so quickly without thinking them through just didn't really have a good answer.
I thought about:

So many people have their own agenda at the forefront of their minds. Not that they're bad people or up to no good, they're human beings and like all of us, can get super focused on their own agenda. We must bare in mind that it is entirely okay to take our time and think things through.
"Well I have to make a decision sooner or later so I might as well hurry up."
Who ever said to stop and smell the roses was on to something profound. Why in the world would we not take one of our glorious moments to slow down just a little bit and give some directive thought to important decisions that we all have to make routinely? Ok, so some things are time sensitive, but are they really? Will there never be another dentist appointment or reservation for dinner?
Well if I don't do it now I might not get another chance.
I'm doing my best to erase this line of thinking from my existance. Second chances are so much more abundant than we care to acknowledge. It is important to act swiftly sometimes. But it is just as important to realize that a careful and thoughtful decision is more likely reached without the haste.
So taking a moment to slow it on down has some benefits. We have the ability to think things through and find a rational answer. We must take the required time to come up with the decisions that are best for ourselves and the ones we love. It's okay to be a little slow when we need to be, as so many of the WA members have reminded me- Rome wasn't built in a day!
