Lost my ranking.why?

Maybe it's a silly question, but few days ago I was ecstatic that I have rank 3rd position on Bing and Yahoo for a keyword in my website. Today I tried again, and I see that for the same keyword I am back to zero!

What is affecting it? Why I lost so quickly the gain position?

It's a bit frustrating, but keep going...

thanks

Federico

Hi Federico,
I was number ! in Bing and Yahoo, for a while but in time the ranking may stay in that area, with me it fell out maybe it wasn't what searchers were looking for. My website is old so it wasn't something brand new.

Just make your article the very best you can make it and your rankings may flow right to the top again.

You have great answers here that will help you move forward. Good luck Federico.

It is normal for a new website or a new article. It used to be called back in the day the Google dance. It's there one day and gone the next and the comes back with a completely different page. I know your rank is important but posting consistent content is more important than watching thGoogle dance

if this is a newish post then what the search engines will do is to test your article against others for different keywords ...some you may get a high score for and others a low score....
you also go through various levels - the first one or two being machines and the last usually a human...
but effectively you are doing the search engine bounce....
you may find that a few days later that you are back up in hte rankings...
is there anything you can do anything about it...only make sure your article is on topic and answers the question completely and is better than the other 9 articles on page one...
if you do all that thenm there is no reason for any of the search engines not to rank you highly....
but make sure hte rest of your site is on par with these articles.....
and watch out for new 'rules' about popups
good luck
phil
