Quack! Quack! Is More Important Than Money!
Who would have thunk? Quack! Quack! is more important than money! Here is a case study about how not to over-think a niche. And, instead test keywords on real prospects in almost real time!
The Duck won! He got 72 clicks, I got 2!
I have a new, very local classified ads site, and hought it would be a good idea to write a post about ideas on how to earn money in a bad economy. My Post got 2 clicks in 48 hours.
Soon afterwards, using the same customer list, one of my classified ads web subscribers posted a listing for selling "Fresh Ducks". The ducks got 72 clicks in 48 hours!
It was a Quack Up!
Just for fun. Does Amazon sell "Fresh Ducks?"
Lets check... Opps! There it is! "Fresh Ducks" for sale on Amazon! A niche for selling ridiculous "Fresh Ducks" anyone?
There are several lessons to learn here. Using Jaaxy for keyword selection and picking low-hanging fruit is great. But, knowing in advance what is going to work? Priceless! And, there is a lot more sauce to this story.
Now about the viral stuff!
First, I spent $20 on Facebook to buy 100 Likes targeted to the local commuinity. Then posted my web site's "Fresh Ducks" to them. It went mini-viral! The blessed event lasted two days! I was actually adjusting the post in almost real-time, while watching the demographics and Comments. I was getting visitors' information and feedback in a matter of minutes!
How was I getting feedback so fast? Why so many clicks? How did I know where the clicks came from? I didn't buy Google Adwords or spend a lot of money.
If you find the linked Post useful or interesting, please leave a Comment on my site. Then, leave your web site address in this WA thread and I'll comment on yours - hopefully, others will too. Great for everyone's rankings! Especially, if we respect each site's keywords.

That for me is the word of the month, testing. I read the big guys do it.
As you say who woulda thunk . LOL
Viral keywords testing is fun using this method. You can see results is only a few hours, not weeks or months. Amazingly, I was adjusting my post article while watching the demographic results coming in on another screen. Really cool!
