Becoming Better In Business: Look In The Mirror and Decide Its That Simple
I have had such amazing opportunities to meet some very successful people in life
who have mentored me to help guide me into becoming a better person overall.
By continually striving to become a better person, the secondary effect, is to become a
better business person. So, if you are striving here to make your mark, to create a team
to become a professional at what you do, then part of your day needs to dwell upon
helping you become open enough to recieve information that will in effect allow you to
attract others in your success cycle.
I am absolutely not a weekend get away personal conference type of person. I am a
reader who loves to apply different aspects of books I study into my daily activities and
practices, not just actionable (things we do) but implementing strategies to help me
overcome my fears and positively more forward with daily activities which, in effect, help
my mind achieve and conceive.
Well I changed my tune for three days this week. I had an opportunity to listen to some
amazing speakers at an away event. The speakers helped me see some of my weak
points and gave me resources to utilize strategies to overcome and become better. So
if your not in the mind, emotional, spiritual or financial space you want to be in. Then
perhaps it is time to seek some info out, which in effect, will change what goes into your
brain (gigo - garbage in garbage out) and allow you to open up. Thus accepting those
things you have always wanted to change, but didn't necessarily know what to do or
how to do it.
One of the speakers talked about passion. Another who ran across the USA in 100
days talked about time management. Another talked about how to effectively dream,
another about the possibilities we have today in our lives, that was Jack Canfield
chicken soup author. Others talked about branding to podcasting.. it is interesting
though the speakers I identify most are the ones not talking about the technical of what
to do, but the ones talking about what we need to do, to move on in our minds and
accept that we are worthy of rewards in this life.
So one take away from this weekend was the fact that the most important thing we can
do in running our own business is to be totally crystal clear on our objective and laser
focused during the time we have set aside to build. So if you are unclear of what you
want to accomplish in your biz, spend sometime tonight and write down what you want
and be super descriptive. Don't just say I want to quit my job..WRITE DOWN.. after x
years of working, I will create a team of X people in the next 180 days that will
create an income of X for me that in effect will allow me to scratch X amount of debt
and give me the opportunity to walk away from my job..
Just last week on the ride back from Kelowna in beautiful BC. One of my 27 year old
leaders were planning exactly how he was going to walk away from his job in the great
white north...YES A HELICOPTER IS IN ORDER..so each day that goes by as he
continues to forge ahead in his business, his mental focus and picture of his helicopter
to freedom all wrapped in awesome, flows into his being to help motivate and push him
toward achieving that celebration..
My question to you..do you have what you want written down.. do you have it on you
on the back of a business card or as a screen saver on your phone.. so when you are
out and about in your daily lives n the back of your mind always should be.. i have to
get free, freedom and protecting my family is the most important thing i can do today to
serve my self and others around me based on my personal dreams.
The better you have your dream crystal clear within your mind and can see it when you
close your eyes, your effectiveness out in the field is increased greatly..so be clear and
concise, write it down... and dream big.
Jack Canfield, writer of Chicken Soup for the Soul series,,when he had 144 of his
original tries to get his original book published rebuked. You should have heard the
others who put him down for writing a series of separate stories and putting them into a
feel good book... finally 145th said yes and even that publisher when asking Jack how
many books he wanted to get printed his first year laughed at him.. the publisher
himself taking Jack on said, 20,000 copies.. Jack said, 20,000 copies in the next 90
days and by this time next year over1 million.. the publisher, his own publisher laughed,
after 144 nos..how big is your dream.. but you know..Jack Canfield and his business
partner had other plans for that book, they crystallized it on paper and dwelt on it every
day. Now he has sold over half a billion books in 40 languages all over the world, only
JK Rowling has sold more books than him in the last 50 years (outside of the bible of
course).. so guys, are you dreaming big enough, have you crystallized it and written it
down.. do become better in business you have to spend the time searching out how
you can become better so others will be included in your magnetism from your dreams
and goals.. what i learned this week is that anything is possible and yes you, the
person listening on the other side of this phone.. you story needs to be heard, your life
is of prime importance to our survival as a species even if you don't realize it yet..
Every person is special and has the skills and talent available by God to create
their own spectacular lives.
