Observations experienced these holidays.Where is the Humanity?
The rise of modern cities have destroyed the feeling of community and have given rise to a culture of indifference and dog eats dog mentality.
People in cities barely know each other and the city rush resulted in need for time management to cope thus sacrificing socialization. (Thier friend is: Online...Invisible...Communication with each other)
So we can say people in cities are barely a community sharing same values, ideals and aspirations.
In my humble opinion: It is merely an aggrupation of people.

True, in addition, people in the cities has generally moved there at some time or other and away form their family and community groups. When they think of where they come from or belong, it is still to those family and community groups and not the cities where they live out of pure necessity. In reality they don't belong to those abandoned communities either, as they are not longer residing in them and have grown in different directions.
The concept of the nuclear family might have made some sense in the 1950s when men went to work and women stayed home to look after the house/family. Today that has changed and it has become a real struggle to have a family as both parents work and have to pay exorbitant costs for child care. Mothers can rarely afford to give up work to stay home as the lifestyle demands two incomes and grandparents are not around to help as they were left behind in the old home town.
Call me Dave (Cameron ) has tried to get the big community going but that will not happen until we get everyone on the same Hymn sheet in the UK , we are evolving into a techno kind of species where only the strong will survive or those who can adapt the best to the changes that are happening , unless the wealthy wake up then they might have to wash their own cars one day because all the poor people will be wiped out. How many houses can you live in at one time, how many cars can you drive at any given time, the above post will cause people to think about how we can all help a little bit more

Not just the city, but the nation as a whole. The united States (ponder the name) was founded on aggregation.
