Why Is It So Difficult To Get To Your Priorities? Set Your Priorities By Making A Choice
Hello My Wonderful Friends,
Priorities are the things that give life meaning and a purpose. For example, a yearly goal can be deconstructed into monthly to-do lists, which then lead to weekly tasks, daily priorities, etc. Have you ever wondered to which aspects of your life you should pay maximum attention and consider them your priorities?
Once you have an idea of where your priorities are, another tip for managing your time is to plan ahead. Effective time management happens when you define what your priorities are. Establishing priorities saves time, trouble, and effort. Priorities are the core of a successful productivity system.
“Setting priorities” is a skill that helps you advance in any career. If you learn how to set priorities, you’ll be able to finally tackle all those unfinished tasks that hunt you day after day. Remember, setting priorities starts with a mindset shift.
The key, however, is to really focus fully on one priority at a time, so that the priorities become habits.
Spending time on secondary priorities is the reason you have 20 half-finished projects instead of 5 completed ones. Before you can begin setting your marketing priorities, you must become crystal clear on your business goals.
Once you have identified your priorities and set goals for the year, it is important to set clear, concrete benchmarks for success throughout the year. For some of us, perhaps the problem is we do not know what our priorities are or should be.
All good business people know that any process related to executing a strategy around set priorities comes with challenges. But identifying goals and establishing priorities enables you to make the best choice possible in every situation.
A well-thought-out list of priorities helps you to overcome conflicts in advance. Priorities give you a sense of direction when it is time to determine where you want to go next. Your God-given potential gives you the right and responsibility to choose goals and set priorities in all areas of your life. No one else knows which goals are most appropriate for you, and no one else should dictate your priorities.
Having clear priorities might be the best ingredient for success.
Make a commitment now to yourself and your future to take charge of your life and to establish priorities that will enrich your life and the lives of those around you. Before you can begin setting your personal priorities, you need to think long and hard about what you want for yourself, not just your small business’ bottom line.
Without boundaries and personal priorities, you are not serving yourself fully as a business owner. Successful people increase their productivity by controlling their priorities. Before you can set priorities, you need to have a plan. Put your priorities on the table and analyze them thoroughly.
If you want to achieve your goals (and who doesn’t), properly setting priorities is essential. When setting priorities, it may be helpful for you to block out time for your toughest assignments first thing in the morning. Written goals and priorities also allow you to see (and celebrate!) your progress.
Setting priorities also helps you to avoid becoming overwhelmed if you have multiple goals you are trying to reach. If you can find your peak productive times and then schedule your highest priorities during them, you’re setting yourself up for the best day possible.
The truth about priorities for success though, is that you can only really have one.
That’s why you need to determine what you really want – what are your life priorities or goals, before you even think about daily priorities or tasks. Setting goals and priorities are essential to running a great company so it is worth the time and effort to improve this skill.
BTW, since we have about 12 days left, might as well get busy singing the tune

Priorities - what an excellent post.
I have rarely set definable priorities down in a list. (I do make lists all the time), but I have not set them out as priorities.
I can see now that it worked for my first career, but it is not working so well for this one.
I will rearrange based on this post.
Thank you for that.

I think we can make all the plans we want and establish our priorities, but often life happens or a higher power speaks and our priorities must change.
I often say that I don't have enough time. Perhaps it's a mother thing but family and and their needs always come first. Work will always be there but family may not. It has to be a balance. Just my 2 cents here.

I agree that the family always comes first. Nice to see you Debbi
Did you participate in the Scavenger Hunt? lol I did not. I was still up to my knees in cookie dough.
Pray for NO snow and NO stops by police tomorrow as I head up to NY.

Ok, going back up North, be careful and be safe.
Great, albeit tiring, drive to NY. Police were out and about in it not stopping anyone. I only did 80+ a couple times when my mind started to wander. 😉
