Being Productive
I recently found a tool called "RescueTime" and I've been using it to measure how much time I spend being productive. I will be putting it to use this weekend because I've unfortunately fallen behind on some work. In writing for two websites and blogging on Wealthy Affiliate, I've discovered that I don't know as much calculus as I think I know. (I'm a Computer Science major in college.) So, all day today will be spent on Khan Academy. (At least until 6 when the library closes, and I no longer have access to good internet.) At some point later this evening I've got a Fiverr gig to fill.
What is most worrying to me is that I will not be able to write a blog this weekend for my site AnCapUs. It has become a weekly deal because I generally only have time on the weekends and doing heavy research for 10-20 page articles in one weekend are major time hogs.
My reason for typing this very post up as quickly as possible is to note that sometimes you won't have time for your sites. Especially when you have outside interests/things to do. This is OK. Pick up where you left off later.
I've written before on writing 2 posts for every 1 that you publish and scheduling stuff out so that you make room for the times when you can't work on your site. I can't do this with my main site but for some of my others, it's no problem. It allows me to be more flexible and independent.
Plan ahead, work ahead, prioritize and schedule. There are only so many hours in a day and you shouldn't be afraid to lose a few here and there. As long as you're working towards something, you're making progress.

This is great! I have seen where I lose complete track of time when on the web doing odds and ends and not really accomplishing what I thought I would ...... :) Thanks Ethan!
The Rescue Time site looks interesting. I think that the toughest thing I find is saying no to jobs/activities. If you do a good job with something you get asked to do it again and then you are asked to do another job!
Technology allows us to achieve more and do more than just a few generations ago could have dreamed of. As we adapt to the information age, these are just simple ways to keep perspective and stay on track. ;)
Yes, I tried it out before, pretty neat app, but I decided to uninstall. I really don't like an app tracking me that much and putting my information out on the cloud for the NSA and anyone else that wants to steal it.

Thanks for the tip about rescue time, I have downloaded it and find it to be very helpful in discovering where I lose most of my time. It will help me get back on track and remind me to stay there.
