How to use Popup Maker For Buying Choices
On my website: https://smallkitchenappliances... there are many blenders, juicers and slow cookers with affiliate links to Amazon.com and Amazon.ca. Additional affiliate links direct to makers and other sellers are now being added.
Until now, I have been using Pretty Links to redirect visitors to the various buying choices, in order to keep Google from ranking my site poorly. When there are a large number of direct affiliate links on a site, Google may rank it as a "thin affiliate site". Pretty Links is a way to redirect visitors to the affiliate website without the affiliate link showing up on the web page. The problem with Pretty Links is that each affiliate link is an individual link. This means that each single appliance on my site requires 2, 3 or more Pretty (affiliate) Links making for a very messy looking page and confusion as to where each link is redirecting the visitor.

Amazon now has a feature that links U.S., Canadian, U.K. and other country accounts so that when a visitor from a certain country clicks on the Amazon affiliate link they are automatically sent to their respective country's Amazon site i.e. Canadians are sent to Amazon.ca instead of Amazon.com. The problem with this is that it doesn't work in third party plug-ins like Pretty Links.
Then I found Popup Maker, a free plug-in that pops up when a visitor performs a certain trigger action like clicking on text, an image or video link on a page. Another free trigger action is time delay/auto open that opens the popup automatically after a time delay. Other trigger actions are available as paid extensions and include exit intent, scroll, force login, click blocking login, and age verification triggers.
Conditions can be set to make the popup open on all or only selected pages and posts. Advanced targeting conditions can be added with paid extensions. These advanced tools can target specific markets to boost conversion rates.
Popups can be customized with built in themes or themes you build yourself with HTML. Built-in theme size, color, background, opacity, border, close action and other variables can all be set by you.
Customizing popups is done in the format of a typical Wordpress page editor making the learning experience very familiar. However, the popup is not another page on the website. It cannot be found and indexed by Google.
Cookies can be set to prevent popups from appearing more than once, thus avoiding annoying repeated popup action.
Once installed popup maker tools are available from your website to facilitate locating the trigger ID tag that you want to use for the click open trigger. You simply click on the Popup Maker/Tools/Get Selector menu and follow the instructions. Copy the ID tag and paste into your "Extra Selectors" dialog box. The popup will open when the object identified by the selector tool is clicked.
On my site, I added a "Where To Buy" button, downloaded from a free image website and modified with an image editor. The button is added below each appliance image and when a visitor clicks it, a popup opens with the direct affiliate links to Amazon.com, Amazon.ca as well as any maker or other supplier links applicable.
Because the popup is not a page or post as far as Google is concerned, these do not count as affiliate links on my page/site.

It's worth bearing in mind that Google is already penalising sites that use popups which block content on mobiles, and has said that this will also apply shortly on other platforms too.
