Exciting opportunity
This isn't at all related to Wealthy Affiliate, but this community has been so supportive over the past few months that I felt obligated to share this with you all.
Several years ago, I lost my younger brother to suicide, leaving my family and I lost and confused. Now, with one semester left on my bachelor's degree, looking back and examining my own personal stories has taught me a great deal about myself and the world around me.
I've compiled several of those stories and I've turned them into talking points that I've been able to share with several audiences. Today, I received the news that Arizona State University, my own flesh and blood, has asked me to speak at their Ignite@ASU event, a TED talk style event at the University level.
I'll be filming the footage and posting it up on my personal blog later on (once I've build out my personal blog :D ), but I just felt the need to share this story with you all. Never in my life have I felt the support that I receive from the Wealthy Affiliate community.
Thank you all for being so awesome!

Outstanding Erik, our family also lost a member. We were 9 and our 2nd oldest left us to join our Father in Heaven 8 years ago. During that time I also decided to push forward and attained my bachelors degree as well as an associates. Looking back, it's what brought me here. Thanks for sharing.
I'm sorry for your loss, and I know that the pain is still there. But using that pain to drive you is incredible. Congratulations on getting your degrees and I wish you the best of luck :)
WOW, Erik! That's so AWESOME! My daughter just enrolled at ASU in their online program as a Liberal Arts major!! They've got amazing programs and are so helpful and kind there! I wish you all the best at your speaking event! I'm so impressed!
I am so in awe of your strength and dedication in life--to not give up when heartache and pain overtake you. Blessings to you, my friend.
I look forward to seeing your speech on your blog! You are amazing and I'm so glad we are connected here!
Thank you so much for your kind words! It's my opinion that other people deserve to know what happened to my brother so that they may have the opportunity to develop a closer connection with their own relationships.
That's so cool that your daughter is going to be attending ASU! The University has come a long way over the last decade and I think she's going to enjoy her experience!

Eric that is fantastic!!! I’m so sorry for your loss and totally understand. We have gone through a lot with our son in the past, being suicidal. It’s hard on them and the whole family. The fact that you’re able to speak about your life will help more people than you know.
Blessings on you,
Suzanne
