Hi dear WA friends!

My native language is Dutch and I found that writing articles in English takes me ages and I think the articles just don`t seem to sound very profess

Hey I am Lula.
Can I learn from your experience if you do not mind?
Wishing you a terrific day.

Hi Lula,

Off course, I am going to follow this instructions here in this training of Jerry: I hope it works since I am not a technical person at all :D.

Do you want to build a new website in another language to? If so what language?

Hope you have a great day!

PS: I live in the country side too :D.

Hi, you may like to use Grammarly.com - however the premium version of which would help you out with grammar and learning, an avenue for you to explore.

They also have a plagiarism checker, would simply let you know if your text would come up in another source in their databases or the net. The idea is you want your content 100% original written in your own words. so that Google would look at your site as an authority and trustworthy down the line. And for your posts eventually getting ranked.

Hi Abie, thank you for your comment. I love Grammarly too, I am already using the paid version since the first time it came out! :)

Thank you but I don`t think the plagiarism checker is very useful since I write my own articles :).

Am aware and makes sense, sometimes the odd quote here and there may pop up, so find it handy. However I understand your point of view.

Ah yes I understand, that is great that you find it handy! Love Grammarly too by the way :D!

Hi dear WA members,
I was wondering if any one of you has tips on how to effectively combine all those different responsibilities, tasks and goals in different areas of life

Erika, I admire you for handling so many responsibilities in your life. With so much on your plate, it can be a major challenge to do it all and not suffer burn out as you are finding out. Any advice I give may not be new to you. Since I don't know what you have done to make this all work in harmony, I'll give it my best shot.

Your daily activities fall into just a few categories. Like tasks related to:

1) The family, farm and animals.
2) Routine care of household.
3) Coaching Clients
4) Personal Health and Fitness
5) Working on WA, YouTube and your book etc.

I tried to lay this out from high to low priority. All are important. It is just a matter of degree.

The first two you have to do every day. You cannot get around that fact. Family and farm need daily attention. To help you do these most efficiently, make a list of the daily chronological order of tasks for every 30 minutes and create a check list. As you complete a task, check it off.

Of course, not all household tasks require daily attention. Make a schedule on what days you need to do what and create a checklist for these two. Cross each item off as you complete it.

I am assuming that you earn an income from coaching clients. This is a money earning task. As with the others, create a daily schedule of appointments (You should already have this anyway) and check them off as completed.

Personal Health and fitness is directly related to what you eat. And your exercise. Since you are moving around all day, especially on the farm, that should be just as good as exercise. No need to go to the gym. You can eat cheap and well depending where you shop.

We buy from the 99 cents store and Walmart more than any other. Vegetables are very cheap in the former. Consume these no more than a few days after purchasing. Shop for food online if you can. This will free up time for your other tasks. And save on car wear and tear and gasoline.

The items in #5 I feel are the most important for the long term. How well you do with these will influence your future. Hence I consider them the most important tasks. Sadly, they cannot take daily priority over the others. But they must get done.

You don't have the time to work on all of these every day. But, you MUST schedule time for these activities. My suggestion is to carve out time in the evening when all the other activities will have been addressed. Hopefully, if you have kids, they will be in bed, or at least in their rooms by then.

When you set aside about 2 to 3 hours for these activities, make sure your family know that you need this time for yourself. That what you are working on will have results in the future that will benefit them too. Explain that this work is different to job time work. Here you are building assets using your imagination that will provide the family with passive income. Explain what passive income is to them.

If there is a way to involve them in some of your creativity, do that. It will give your family a mission that will help everyone when successful. Share your plans with them.

Identify which of these will give you the biggest bang for your effort. Schedule accordingly. Spend at least 1 hour daily on WA. And the remaining time on your book and YouTube on alternate days.

Finally, the best way to handle burn out is to schedule time each week that you and the family do something fun. With the pandemic going on think of indoor stuff. You can also go on drives to new places locally. With traffic reduced this could be fun.

Don't forget to take small breaks during each day. To do some thinking. I suggest at least three 10 minute breaks every 4 hours.

When you document your activities and check off what you complete, you will get a feeling of control of your life. Instead of life dictating what you do, it will be reversed. You will be dictating what you will be doing in your life.

Acquiring that kind of control will give you a feeling of accomplishment and wellbeing.

I'd be interested to know if you are already organizing your life in the way I have recommended above. If not, what do you think?

At first, it will take some time and effort to get organized. Once you have the framework set, you won't have to do that again. Maybe slight modifications as time progress and your priorities evolve.

I wish you much success in your future.

Cheers.

Edwin

Hi Edwin,

At first I want to thank you for your patience because you had to wait 10 months on my reply! As you can see on my website, I have stopped posting since asking the question because a few days after me asking this question I got struck with adrenal exhaustion, nervous breakdown, and burnout and had to recover for months. After my recovery, I had a major delay in the writing of my book, and since I had a book contract with my publisher I had to address this first, so finally my book was published on the 24th of December.

Now I have been busy laying the ground foundation of my health again this first few weeks of the year, since I have been diagnosed with a chronic muscle disease 26 years ago, working out and going to the gym is very important to be able to maintain my work on the farm and my care giving for my elderly mom, I am the only care giver she has and therefore have to take care of our 2 households and my farm. I am also single and have no other family so have no one here to help me out so I have to make it on my own.

But now that the book is published and my health is stabilized again I am starting my Wealthy Affiliate journey over. The doctor advised to start making some choices, so I do not coach anyone anymore since this was a volunteering job and I did not earn anything with it and it was only taking up much time and energy, I only do this for my friends if they need it and the Youtube journey is on the backburner too.

I will be focusing on starting a new website now in my own native language in Dutch, because I am able to write much better, much more interesting and entertaining articles in my own language and I found a great affiliate program in Dutch to work with.

I also found an accountability partner here on WA to make sure I keep consistent with my website :).

As for the scheduling and making time frames I already did that but it was difficult to keep them and I was always interrupted since I never know before hand when my elderly mom needs me or when their is something wrong with one of my animals.

But I am starting all over with my new Dutch website from scratch and I am looking forward to starting over with your tips. I also started to order much more on the internet and that has indeed helped me a lot with time. Buying cheep groceries is not so much possible since I have a lot of food intolerances so I have to go to the biological shop for all of that.

Nevertheless, a much belated thank you for all of your help and I hope all goes well for you!

All the best and have a great day!

Erika

Right there with you Erika! One of the biggest things about having lots of goals is to stay organized and maintain an organized environment around you that supports your goals.
It seems simple, but having lots of clutter around, makes it difficult to be goal focused. A lot like having ice cream in the freezer makes it difficult to stay on a good diet. Remove the ice cream and you just increased your chance of success!
There's a good blog post on this philosophy called Kanyo Kaizen https://www.simpleology.com/a/1216022/blog/2011/11/the-kankyo-kaizen-movement.html

Good luck!

Hi John,
I really like your analogy of the icecream :D. You are spot on about the clutter!! Coincidence or not, I am trying to work on the clutter thing also as this farmhouse has been from deceased family members and I have lots of furniture and old household stuff in the house that is not mine and that I have to sort out also.
I already sorted out the Warehouse and garden shed since I needed this space first hand to stockpile my hay, straw bales and other animal supplies and this took me months to do that :). So I am definitely happy with the blog post you gave me!
Thank you so much for your comment!
Greetings and stay safe!

Hi everyone,
I have somewhat of a strange question for you. I inserted a few affiliate links in 2 of my articles last night for the very first time because I have just comp

Personally I have never ever come across this myself.

The main thing when sharing content with affiliate links, make sure you have an affiliate disclosure visible. Also when you are making recommendations that you have used or read then explain why you found the book helpful and how it could help them. Then leave it up to them to decide if they want to click through and buy it.

You have done nothing wrong here so don't beat yourself up. Keep helping people and producing quality content. :)

Martin

Thank you so much for your helpful comment. I didn`t learn about the affiliate disclosure yet, but maybe Kyle will mention this in one of the next lessons :). If it isn`t mentioned in the lessons, where can I find this, please?
Thank you so much, I always spent hours on end helping the members of my group with tips and listening to their problems, I put so much time and effort in this group so I felt really discouraged that they were rude to me for sharing an article about procrastination when the person I shared it with actually asked me to help them with their procrastination issues.

This article should help you Also some people you just can't help, until they help themselves.

Martin

Thank you so much Martin. I have already added an affiliate disclosure and a disclaimer to my website. Now I still have to add the warning to the different posts. Thank you so much for the article, it was really helpful because I didn`t see anything about that in the online entrepreneur course yet!

And yea you are totally right about the helping thing, that is something I should keep in the back of my mind for the future. :)

Have a great day and thanks for your help!

Erika

Glad it helped

You have to be careful when you share links in groups or communities that could result in your own financial gain because some groups don't allow that.

For example, if I had a Facebook group & somebody shared an article which I then discovered led to them receiving financial gain, I wouldn't be too happy.

Just tread carefully, and try to "attract people" rather than pushing content onto them. That way you'll stay clear of any shunning.

Thank you so much for your comment!

Just to be clear here: I haven`t shared any of my content in groups or communities because I don`t do that and I am not active in any other groups as my own. I have my own Facebook group that I founded to help people reach their goals. I am working hours on end to answer everyone's questions and private message while they tell me about their problems and I try to help them out.

And I had one of my group members that posted a question in my group where she asked me for my advice on how to deal with her severe procrastination issues, so since I had just written the article on my blog (without any links in it at the time), I decided to share it with her in a comment because that would be able to help her and it would save me some time writing a long comment to her. She was really pleased with it.

And now yesterday I followed the course about the affiliate links and I inserted the affiliate link, I just added it in my article so not in my group, and suddenly another group member writes a comment on my article recommendation that I have used affiliate links in it.

So you can imagine that I was startled because I always go out of my way to help anyone out for free in this group, I never even offered anyone my own coaching services or book and I am giving away a course of mine completely free so that is why I was so heartbroken to get this comment for this link :).

Can't please everybody :)

Yes indeed you are totally right Dale :D, I will definitely keep that in mind. Thank you for your help and have an amazing day!
Erika

I don't know the person who is complaining but I do know that there will always be SOMEONE who complains. It's just the way some people are. Even if they're happy, they'll find something to complain about. : )

As mentioned below, it is probably a good idea to specify where the link will take a person if they click on it. Other than that, just carry on.

This is a legitimate way of doing business, so don't let one person's complaint make you second guess yourself.

Cheers
Tracy

Thank you so much for reminding me, you are absolutely right. I am so getting used to the positive environment here on the WA platform that I feel surprised and heartbroken by getting a hurtful comment like that, especially because I go out of my way to help anyone out and I spent so much time doing so all for free.

Thank you for your comment and have an amazing day ;)

There is nothing wrong with it if it doesn’t violate any terms of use for the platform.

Hyperlink is a function in HTML to allow you to do that. The choice is still the reader’s to click. They have a choice not to click but it doesn’t mean it is wrong to put a link.

Thank you so much for your comment. That is absolutely true, they have the choice, and it was my own Facebook Group that I founded so I definitely didn`t violate anything. :)

So, don't worry. Sometimes we get this guilt feeling when we did nothing wrong. You are OK.

That is true, thank you so much Stanley and have an amazing day!

I haven't encountered this before but it's one reason why I would shy away from sharing these things from people I know in real life. People love to feel superior, and one way they do so is by shooting down other peoples' efforts.

I get tired of people doing MLM schemes on my facebook. Friends trying to sell me stuff through MLM schemes. My cousin tried to get me to share her posts promoting diet products once and normally I don't say anything, but having had an eating disorder in the past I kind of told her off for that one.

Maybe they see it a little bit like that. I know it's different, but people can feel a bit used if they think people they know in real life are constantly trying to sell them things. Even if you didn't try to sell them anything before, someone else may have.

But you're not putting the link in for those people. You're putting the link in for someone who is looking for resources on how to stop procrastinating.

The only thing that may have your link a little "tricky" is that you don't mention that's where the link is going to go. So they may have felt a little duped when clicking it. If you had written something like, "You can buy Mel Robbins' Book on the 5 Second Rule Here" they may not have even really noticed the link. Or they may not have commented because they didn't feel the need to click it. Simply making the title of your bullet point the link leaves us a little blind. I actually looked through the article three times to find the link before I realized that's where it was. If I were clicking that link, I would expect it to go to another blog post, not a product. So that may be why.

Otherwise, your article is great. You're not overly selly. You try to help people and provide them further resources if they want them. My only suggestion might be to be more straight forward with where the link is going. But otherwise, I wouldn't worry too much about them.

You're going to have supporters and you're going to have nay-sayers. Listen to the supporters.

Thank you so much for your comment and for taking the time out of your day to explain things.

It really helps to see things from a different perspective too :). I can imagine it wasn`t really pleasant having your cousin asking you that. I never ever done something like that in my life.

Fortunately, I do not know the people in my group in real life. It is a group I founded to help people reach certain goals and keep them accountable. I spent hours on end helping the people in my group by answering all of their questions both on the group's timeline and in private messages, where I listen to their problems and try to offer them the advice they ask for.

This happened here too since there was a person posting a question in my group about how to deal with her severe procrastination issues, and since I just wrote the article at that time (it didn`t even have any affiliate links in it) I thought it would be able to help her out and It would save me some time responding to her question in a long comment. So I shared the article with her and she was really pleased with it. Then yesterday evening I followed the course on affiliate links from Kyle so I inserted a link into this article (only into the article not in my group) and all of a sudden a few hours later there is another person of my group commenting on my share of the article with the lady who asked me the question and she is starting to shame me for using an affiliate link in my article.

You can imagine I was really startled about that since I spent so much time trying to help everyone out in my group completely for free. I am a life coach and an author myself and I never ever offered my services or book to anyone of this group so when I was getting the comment about the affiliate link I felt extremely hurt.

Thank you so much for the tip about how to mention the link, there wasn`t any explanation in the course Kyle simple showed in the video featuring his Vitamix Blender that you can link the Vitamix Blender to the affiliate page. So that is what I have done with the book because I thought it had to be done this way. I hope there are more lessons about this in the course that can help me out on how to do this because I haven`t got a clue and just did it the same way Kyle did in his video :).

Thank you for your support and I wish you all the best too! Hope you will have an amazing day today!

Greetings, Erika

Hello! Yes I can see that being frustrating when you didn't just drop the article on them for no reason. I'd be more than a little ticked off too at someone for coming at me over a link in an article meant to help with an issue someone was having in the group.

I wonder if they would have said anything if they didn't know you had written the article? Probably not.

I think it's a bit different for the blender because the post was talking all about the blender and selling it. You don't actually mention the book at all, simply the concept behind the book.

Regardless, I truly think it's a matter of someone just being difficult. Like I said, there will be some "haters" as they say. But there will also be supporters. Let the haters roll off your back and listen to the supporters.

Hi, thank you so much for your reply. Yes I can see the difference for the blender situation and the book situation now :D.

I hope there will be a little more training about how to write reviews and stuff further down the line.

And yes you are right, I regularly share resources of others in our group and she never mentioned anything about them although I have definitely shared resources from other writers/YouTubers who have affiliate links in them ;).

Thank you so much for your kind support and help. I have concentrated on doing other things for the past few days so I could distance myself a bit from the situations (I am a really sensitive person) and now I am starting again with a clean slate and newly found courage. So it is nice to have your support.

I truly wish you all the best to and I hope you have a great day.
Until next time,

Erika

Erika
