I was actually supposed to be on one of the floors that sustained the greatest loss of life in Tower One, but at the last minute I was asked to fly to Chicago instead. Don't know what else to say another than it caused much reflection on the value of life and still does.

Thank you for posting this. Wow the responses really remind me of how so real it was.
I was home asleep my husband called to tell me to watch TV.
Now because of this post I feel that a little more connected to the day.

Sorry for all of those that lost loved ones or just had a horrible scary day.

My kids were in Mexico on their honeymoon: down at the tip, I remember just wanting to drive down right that minute and get them.

God bless

I was working in midtown Manhattan. I remember seeing the billowing smoke coming from downtown. I also remember it was a sunny, crystal clear day at around 70 degrees.

I worked as a consultant for JPMorgan at the time. Cell phone networks were jammed but for some reason, JPMorgan's phone network was able to get through. So I was able to call my family and let them know I was okay.

When people left the office (trying to figure out how they were going to get home) I remember walking through central park and everything seemed so surreal. People went about their business but you could tell they knew things were going to be different from that point on.

While walking in the park I got a call from a colleague of mine who lived in the city. He invited me to come over to his house which I was very grateful for because they weren't allowing anyone in or out of the city and I didn't know what I was going to do. I stayed there until about 9:30 PM which is when they finally opened up Grand Central Terminal and I was able to get a train home.

I was at home trying to heal from my first back surgery when my wife came into the bedroom and wanted me to come out to the living room to watch the news then that's when the second plane hit. Was a terrible day to see people loose their life just like that and watching human beings jump from the building so the wouldn't suffer with burns, can't blame them. I don't know why people feel that they need to kill one another but it happened and nothing we can do but remember and keep those who parished in our prayers! God Bless

I was having cooffee with my sister and our kids, there was an air of doom! I will never forget it!

I should add: My Prayers and thoughts go to the families of the victims of this attack.

I was waiting for a bus when I heard the news. I was on the way to the hospital for surgery. I watched the new on it in the hospital room until they put me out.

I was sitting at my desk at work and my husband was flying out of New York to California on a business trip. I was a nervous wreck until he was able to get me a message that his plane had safely landed in Chicago and we were separated for days until he could rent a car to drive home...I'll never forget that day and all the lives lost. My thoughts and prayers to all those who were affected by this tragedy.

Oh my God! I could only imagine what was going through your mind at the time. God be with your family!
Eric

I am blessed that my husband was okay, my heart goes out to the families of those that lost their lives. I live in CT, so I knew people who worked in those towers.

I was on my way to the Towers when the planes hit. I wound up watching them fall from Canal Street about 1 mile North of the Towers. I knew 5 people that were killed including 1 NYC police officer. It's a day I'll never forget.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and the ones you lost.

Wow Steve, my heart and prayers will always be with you and others that were and around the destruction because that is very hard for those people. I can't even imagine the night mares you all have!!! God bless you as well!
Eric

I still remember that moment, I was selling cars at the time, and I just watched on TV of the jets flying into the Twin Towers, NYC.--We Will Never Forget.
