What Hurdles Do You Have In Front of You Currently?
One of the first questions I ask all my new referrals who arrive at WA is "What hurdles have you had in the past that have stopped you in your tracks when you've tried to build an online business?".
This question applies to veterans as well.
What seemingly insurmountable obstacles do you have in front of you right now that you think you can't get past? Nine times out of ten, the obstacle can absolutely be defeated, but when we get in our own heads, they seem impossible to get past.

I remember people talking years back about the impossible task of ranking after Google had a regular algorithm shift, and even when veteran marketers who had been in that exact position before would say "You just have to keep plugging away, it'll come around", so many lost all faith and just stopped right in their tracks.
They ranted in their WA posts about how none of it was fair and then left it all behind like the world was over. Meanwhile, a couple years later there's a complete shift with the coming of AI and everything is changed. Again.
. These are the predictable shifts that happen very regularly. You just have to stick with it and adapt and persevere.
It's one of the things that makes WA such a solid training platform. It adapts and rolls with the punches instead of being stubborn and going against the grain.
Sometimes the hurdle is getting lost in a new shiny object like AI and suddenly not being able to function without it. (It's honestly kind of sad to see this one.) Because these are people who previously used words as a strength, and now they feel like they have to consult with AI first to get a simple thought out.
I love AI. I use it daily to do the heavy lifting with content creation. But any time I see obvious AI content or training here in a WA blog, I block it instantly. Tell me all day how you "molded" it and "trained" it and fed it all the prompts blah blah blah. If it's obvious AI output it's blocked. 👍🏼 (And tbh it's made the members area so much nicer.)
And that's another huge hurdle people have, Becoming dependent on tools instead of being the one in control of them.
Sometimes when people don't reach their goals they start thinking the system must be broken and try to reinvent the wheel.
What most need is to take a deep breath, pump the brakes, analyze what's not working, and attack it from a different angle.
So, what's your hurdle? 👇

I just asked GPT what AI has in store for the future of humans and show me in an image. I am a bit confused.
Thank you Eric for sharing the undeniable truth that some of our "hurdles" are imaginary. My hurdle right now which might be imaginery but I believe is real, is that in the 30 days since I started with WA I am relying on blog traffic and I believe to speed up and grow my business quicker I need to supplement with email marketing , i.e. building an email list which is not an easy process as well if you are not tech sauvy like myself.
Email marketing and conversions don’t work unless you already have traffic obviously, so keep working on building out that blog. YouTube is also a great way to find your audience 💯
Thank you for the feedback. Actually as a newbie you are likely to be tempted to listen to advices from the seasoned online entrepreneurs who have walked the path that you are embarking on. Some of these end up as "shinny objects" that leads you nowhere. I listened to a seasoned online marketer saying that if he knew what he now knows he would never have depended on blog traffic without email marketing as the two are integral to each other. But thank you for your measured guidance of persisting and relentlessly building out my blog.
You just misunderstood their point is all.
Email marketing is solid, but it’s not a traffic source all by itself. You can’t magically get subscribers out of thin air. You have to already have traffic coming from somewhere to be able to capture emails. Traffic creates the list. The list doesn’t create the traffic. 👍🏼
My main hurdle is just getting distracted with other things I'm doing and not taking the time to work on my WA business every day.
I feel like the key is to take everything in a linear fashion. When we're just starting off, this is relatively easy because the training is laid out for us: lesson 1, lesson 2, and so on. The more we build we start to think about scaling (usually before we're ready) or we start thinking about other ways to get traffic when we feel we're not getting it fast enough. This is all good as long as you don't overwhelm yourself and lose the momentum you've built.
It's all about content creation. Build for your website, build content for your YouTube, etc. and keep building till you have a foundation beneath you.

Eric,
Love this post and it is a great challenge for a person to be honest with themselves .
You are right though. Sometimes we get so in our heads, that we cant see past the problem.
Mike G
Totally natural and common. Its just a shift in focus that’s needed 👍🏼
